I am building a 355 and need to keep an OEM piston. I.E weight and design. Can I get recommendations on pistons that meet this requirement? I am racing in the SCCA hence the restrictions.
I have'nt got a clue, but if I were confronted by such a problem, I go see a local GM parts counter man. Bet he sells OEM pistons. Maybe even some .030 over.

No doubt. Also, any good parts store should be able to obtain stock replacement .030" overs. Make sure they are quality hyperutectics like the originals. Much stronger than a standard cast piston. I'm using KB hypers but I'm not sure if they make a stock replacement, but they may. They have a selection of pistons that will boggle the mind! http://kb-silvolite.com/index2.php
The rules state that I can go to a forged piston as long as the weight is equal to or greater than the current piston. Are forged pistons heavier than the stock piston?

Like the cast, you can get forged pistons in various weights. Both lighter and heavier than stock, as well as comparable weight I'm sure.

GM sells .030 over pistons over the counter. I'm not sure when the switch was made, but on my LT4 the piston manufacturer was Mahle. LT4 pistons were the same as '96 LT1 pistons (and probably previous years) except that the valve reliefs were a little more shallow.

Lunati, Ross, Venolia, CP pistons and I beleive JE all manufacture a OE spec (weight limits) forged piston that is NHRA legal for stock eliminator drag racing. These pistons would be legal for your SCCA class rules as well.
