My car apparently has "stock computer programming". I have been told that I should go to Level IV programming.

I am totally ignorant here............need some good advice!

What will Level IV do for the motor? What does this entail? Who can do this? What should I expect to pay for a good job? Thanks, Arkvette

I am thinking over 400hp at the crank with that setup properly tuned.

With stock programming the ECM will use stock injector pulse width vs RPM & load which will result in lean operation. So you need to have your EPROM reprogrammed to change the fuel curves as well as possibly the ignition timing curves.

Since you have done heads too TPIS catalog recommends the Level V EPROM. In either case a EPROM change would extract the most from that engine.

There is a guy on the Forum who does EPROMs for much less than the $500+ charged by TPIS.

His car is a 95, no EPROM.

Good observation!! Well.............I have only had the car a few months. Been working on it, not much driving.

I live in the middle of nowhere here in Arkansas. I was not aware of Ed Wright over in Tulsa. It's about 3 1/2 hours over to Tulsa. I will contact them, see what I need to do to make an appointment and show up prepared.

Like I said earlier. I am ignorant when it comes to cars with computers. I have a 66 Nova SS, 327/350hp,4 spd...no computer, no power steering, no power brakes.........now that car I understand and can work on it!!

And...this is a bit off subject.......but if any of you guys need and help tuning a muzzleloader I can help there!

Thank you all!! I appreciate the advice! Arkvette
