Default TPIS level V Prom

Not including calibrating injectors are all level V prom chips programmed the same or are they customized to your mods?

According to their catalog, level 5 chips are customized to your car.

I have one of their level 4 proms and while they took details from me on the mods I've made they did not seem too interested in discussing the particulars, nor did they say changing from fully ported MAF to stock one would make any difference in the tune??

In fact when I had them richen the program since I was running lean during WOT they were not willing to discuss what they did and why.

I have the ablility to read their chips and when I started to question what they did and why I got this attitude that you could not believe. At one point I was told to return their chip for a refund since 'they don't like anyone poking around in there'. I was then told that "you tell us what the car is doing and we make the changes, there's nothing to discuss" !!.

This is NOT the kind of response I would have expected from TPIS. I wanted to work with a tuner who would talk cars and work out the best tune for my car.

I will NOT do business with them again.

Try Formato, they seem better to deal with.

Yep I agree with your comments. Seems everytime I have ever called them to ask a tech question concerning their products, I was always treated like I was a problem child. I have read a couple of their chips and was not impressed with anything they have done. It doesn't sound like you were either. Neverless I haven't called them for anything these days, seeing how if I wanted to be treated like a problem child I can always be a bad boy and hear it from my mom

I have one of their level V chips that didn't support 4+3 so I sent it back. Received a call from the programer who was in Florida asking about the problem. I suspect the person you were talking to knew less than you did about the chip so coped a attitude to hide his ignorance. Like most everything else, they job stuff out to other vendors and put their name on it. Nothing wrong with that.

I had the same problem with tpis also. how many times do i have to send the chip back to them to make it right? im using all their parts. i was running so rich that if it idled in the garage my eyes burned. so i said screw it and bought all the goods to program myself.

but getting back to the point.

if you have the same injectors, intake, cubic inch, and generally close cam specs and head flow #'s. you can use someone elses level five chip. it will be close. but for some reason my car needs less fuel than they expected. i still need to do some datalogging in spring and fine tune. basicly i needed to put 10% more fuel out across the ve tables to get close at idle.
