My '92 Lt1 is very slow to return to idle when I pull up to a light. It is a 6 speed and the engine does not return to idle until the car has stopped rolling and has sat stopped for a second or 2. Any ideas?
I just cleaned out my entire throttle body. Made a world of difference. However, your problem may just be the IAC (idle air control) located at the base of the TB. Also, check the tb plates (butterflies) for sticking / binding.

and also check that your idle set screw has not been tampered with in order to partially open the butterflies ...this is the lazy mans way of increasing the idle when the culprit is bad IAC, bad EGR, vacuum leak, blah blah blah......
