Sometimes you find yourself looking for TDC by yourself, to time your dist. whatever. Better than having a buddy use his finger or buying a real whistler I came up with one of those "it's so simple it's stupid" moments.
Grind it, wire wheel the threads and you've got your own home made whistler. Someone else may have thought of this but I've never seen it anywhere.
OK....what does this plug do? whistle when the #1 is at full compression stroke or what???
Yeah, sorry, I thought it was fairly obvious. When ever you hear the PFFFFFTTT you know it's coming up to compression then just line up the marks on the balancer whatever, install distributor.
OK, so it whistles when you have the piston at TDC under compression so I take it that you have to be under the hood adjusting the distributor manually and using the whistle as a guide to tell you where the engine firing order is at? You're answer came up right after I posed my question. Now I get what you're saying. That would be a great idea when installing a distributor.
