Here's the deal: Tonight, I go out to my car - 96 LT4 w/ 49xxx miles - to pick up some takeout. Outside temp is a moderate mid-40s degrees. I get in, put the key in the ignition, and turn...release - no start. Turn again, hold until I think it should be good to go - no start. Turn and hold for a third time - crank-crank-crank-crank-crank - by now I'm waiting for the sun to come up, and she starts...reluctantly. I pump the gas pedal...rur-rur-rur...she *Finally* kicks into what I would call "normal" idle.
What the *hell* was going on tonight? This is the first time my car has EVER done anything like this, she was driven yesterday, and I don't think it's the coldest temps she's ever seen... What caused such a "hard" start??? Whatever it is, I want to fix it. I will fix it. NOW. Somebody gimme a clue, though, as this one caught me out of the blue...
I believe th west coast has had excessive moisture recently; moisture in the ignition or condensation in the fuel might cause such symptom, expecially if fuel level is low.
You guys have had more rain than Noah had. This can raise hell with gas stations. I'd suspect gas with a little water mixed in. Dry gas to the rescue. I hope your filter didn't get too much in there.
