Removed my MAF and looked inside.
The metal fins appear to be very close to the sensor with no seperation possible. Any suggestions on grinding them out safely?
I have my screens removed already.
Thanks
Roger
Carefully cover the ends of the sensor tube with duct tape.
Cut the heat sink fins off as low as possible with a hack saw or other.
Dress the cuts with a Dremel.
Wipe & blow out any debris.
Remove the duct tape.
Install the MAF.
DO not hit the sensor element inside with that hacksaw, or you may permanently damage the sensor.
I would not even attempt to remove the heat sink fins, just do the screens.
I have done this twice, never felt a difference. Had one done professionally and did one my self with a sawsall. Have to be verrry careful. As vader said, pull the screens and call it good, unless you have a totally maxed out stroker or similar.
