You know Greg and Keith treated me really great on the PTK kit for my 1-off mustang and I couldn't be happier with the workmanship! Its been almost 1 year since the install and it all looks amazing! However, I feel like a traitor cause I am waiting for the STS rear mount twins to be released cause I hate cramping my engine bay soooo bad! But your stuff looks GREAT!!

I am still using the plugs wires that I had made for PTK. However, I hacked off the 90* boot ends and replaced them with MSD 118* boot ends. I did inspections on the wires. I have also done some research over on LS1tech using info from some of the guys running a lot of boost and making over 800rwhp.

Mighty Mouse uses the stock wires and coils..while others use MSD and others.

I am going to buy some GM Truck wires 9.25" length (older version) as some standby wires when I go to re dyno. I have heard that the stock wires may end up working the best.

I have NGK TR7 IXs in the car right now. Had I known about the 3 broken spark plug wires prior to ordering my new plugs, I would have re used the TR6s at a .035" gap. But I didn't know the wires were broken until I went to check the plugs. Oh well...the colder plug should work better for the higher boost anyway.

I just like the TR6s in general...especially at $2.00 per plug vs TR7 @ $7.00 per plug.

Then you can turn it down so you can drive it

Like I have indicated on other threads and now this one. I just drive around on 9#s that is plenty...this other stuff is just for R&D and kicks. I haven't managed to cook anything yet...even on an 800 mile round trip drive...but then again my hood has been modded to relieve pressure and heat. Didn't even wanna see what would burn up if I didn't change something about the hood..either aftermarket or custom.

KEVIN i logged two 47 minute data logs yesterday and nothing cooked yet.
i'd imagine that as a daily driver that a4 guys can run around town w/higher boost levels then m6 guys?

Wow! So how long to change plugs with that setup??
To be honest with you it really sucked but than again it was like changing 16 plugs because of the air fitting which I had to use for changing the valve springs It was like doing each one twice.

I don't have 18" arms like Kevin does but I think my forearms must be larger I just peeled the last scab off my forearm yesterday.
Speaking of "scabs" I hope people on this forum don't plan on flying on Northwest airlines after Aug 19 because it looks like we(Mechanic's) are going to strike! I would not put or risk myself or family members in the hands of inexperienced scabs doing the aircraft maintenance. If you do plan on flying all I can say is good luck!

Sorry to hear about the strike bud.. hoping it goes quick.

It took me an hour to get both manifolds off. Passenger side came off with the turbo and drivers side I needed to remove the turbo first. I agree it's a pain if you're just swapping plugs but at least it's doable.. even w/ manifolds in place.

How's the valvetrain doin?

Valvetrain and overheat problems seems to be doing good, thanks to Phil (thanks Phil for answering all my phone calls) today was the first time I drove the car I was heading to Phils for a tune but I had to make A pit stop at ramchargers to address some high heat issues concerns for my stock hood and some of the wires that run close to the turbos . I bought some heat shield tape, and hose wrap it was getting late and looking like rain so I headed back home and installed the heat shield to the hood, and wrapped the wires and plugs. I also had to cut A small section of the passenger under side of the hood. It was rubbing on the wast-gate, I than covered it with the heat shield and it is hard to tell that it has been cut! Phil and I are shooting for A tune on Sunday. Phil has been A great asset to the completion of my project I've called him zillions of times for the problems I've had, and he has been more than helpful, and very informative! I have not stumped him yet! Phil is there anything you don't know about these fricken cars?

danny good to hear things are coming along!

i spent 400 to 500 bucks on heat sheild products.

i used this stuff http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/in...eat_shield.php

under the reflective liner that you see in my hood pictures. its located above each vent tube to the wastegates. i also thermol wrapped the tubes too. it has been absolutely insane the heat that we have had and guess what.. no discolor on my hood paint

i could have dynoed my car many times over but as youll see once its tuned and running like a raped ape who gives a crap about #'s. my car must be makin some decent # as is whooped my built tranny pretty dam fast

i can predict your next mod.....i'm looking deeeeeeppppp into my crystal ball and....................................i ts telling me..................
inline fuel pump! should be intresting to see the amount of boost that the current system can hold w/that 400 cid. i predict 11psi.

dan are you using hp 2 bar?

Remember that is 18" flexed only 17.5" on the hang. The hardest two to get too are #s 1&3. I described what tools I used. Even harder is getting the plug boots on #s1&3...because there is no tool for that. At 6'1" I have long arms...so my forearms are mainly what I can get up between the oil filter and frame on the drive's side.

Anyway, I didn't know you were/are an aircraft mechanic. I spent 7 years performing some of those duties.

My car right now is just sitting, I am getting ready to trade it straight across for a Pewter Vert. I have to swap over all the parts....not looking forward to it at all. But I always want a Vert and I am not using the Z06 to a point where it really makes a difference (on the roadcourse) at least to outperform the the coupe and Vert. But the good thing is once I am finished with the swap....I can say I owned a Coupe, Z06, and a Vert.
