I want a centrifugal SC.. I don't want one where I have to replace the hood. My question is. What is the reliablity of these units who makes the "good" one and what type of pump gas numbers would I be looking at. Just doing my research is all. I know there's more threads on this probably but I am relatively new here so some fresh answers would be great. Gonna get together with "Pacethis" and see about a coupe. 97~99. He told me to come post here and see what you guys say.
I dont know of any centr. chargers where you have to change your hood. i like my p1sc from andy I kinda wish I woulda went with the d1sc mine made 447.7 at the wheels.I like andys vortec kit also great power .Ii have a 97 for sale also if you are interested.
I don't think any of the kits are *far* better than the others. The truth is for most people and the power levels we run (475-575 rwhp) they are all fine. You see the differences in the kits when you start pushing serious power.
He made a pretty serious claim by saying a specific setup is the best kit "by far". I'm not saying its not, I was just wondering why. Those are some fast times you listed, but what does that have to do with anything? What do 402 LS2 strokers run with Vortech, Procharger, ect? A fair comparison between all of the setups with times, numbers, and reliability factor would be needed to determine that. What good is a kit that runs the fastest time down the track a few times then breaks. (not saying any particular one does). I just haven't seen enough and all the facts to agree that any particular kit is "by far the best". Try picking a twin turbo kit and saying that; watch how fast it turns ugly. But seriously, I just thought it was interesting that just a little while ago if someone mentioned paxton on a C5, people would laugh. Now because procharger is being a pain, everyone swears by paxton. I'm not against anyone or anything, just playing both sides a little and trying to understand what exactly made the change seem like the ultimate answer.
ProChargers are fine. So are the Vortechs and Paxtons. There are a ton of variables in the various tuner kits.
I wouldn't necessarily use a big cube shop car as a poster child for a kit. It's still not faster than a stock cube TT not to mention it doesn't really represent how most people will use the kit. I think most people are interested in how long a kit will last, how fast it will be, and how much money it will cost.
Never said blowers aren't competitive. They certainly are. Plenty of fast cars around. 9's has been done by several people on stock cubes. Both with N20, turbos, and a blower (OpticZ).

Ya, I agree here what made the ATI trash overnight? It was the vendor who supplied the tuners with these head units. Now ATI probably made a grave error in the Vett world by shafting our tuners. What I believe is with all of the RAD the tuners have done with the ATI kit they just applied this as the car manufactures say mid-cycle improvements on the new kits. I already know one of the tuners is going to offer improved brackets for the ATI head unit that will make it even more reliable and of course the ability to make more HP. I bet all of them will do this as there are lots of ATI kits out there on Vetts not ready to goto the grave yard

Exactly. I just don't understand why everyone suddenly jumped on the bandwagon that ATI was "outdated". It may have not been said directly, but it is certainly implied. I'm also willing to bet the people who make bold statements like one kit is way better than another, or a certain kit is the best out there by far has never tried and compared both setups personally.
