Default Another PTK install question

I am in the process of mounting the intercooler. I am supposed to use the existing holes in the frame supports......this is what I see in the video sent with the kit....I have also been told this.

The problem.....there are no existing holes in the frame supports where the intercooler is supposed to bolt to. Can someone tell me if I am missing something here......my vette is a 98.....maybe there were no holes???? Can someone please give me some measurements of where these holes should be so I can drill my own...

Thanks Tom Ulrich

TTT for ya tom..

Are you talking about the holes on the engine side of the frame crossmember? If so they have inserts in them from the original air box. They sorta look like pegs. They have a torx head and can be unscrewed. Maybe on of the Veteran PTK guys can chime in otherwise.

Tom,

Those holes weren't on mine either... maybe it's on some. I lined it up w/ turbos and piping installed. Not necessary but alot easier w/ the front fascia off.

Thanks for the replys....

I am not talking about the bottom radiator support. I am talking about the intercooler mounting only.

I have not fabbed the radiator support yet.....turbo housings are getting coated. Also having some custom shields made by ATP.

Please let me know about the intercooler mounting.....like I said...there are no holes in the sub-frame.

I have those holes, good water drain. I noticed that there were a couple with the bronze inserts also.

I used the bronze colored inserts (threaded holes) to attach my home made "Big Mouth" air dam.

What I did was took the plastic air deflector, flipped it upside down..so that it is a scoop. Then placed the flap of it behind the Radiator. Now air gets scooped, not deflected, up in front of the Condensor and Rad.

I flattened and bent the metal parts that attach to the air dam and then bent them up so that I could run the 8mm bolts into those inserts on the side of the frame.

You can also just buy a big mouth air dam....for $150. I just wanted something more functional then the air dam.
