FYI - Driving through a tunnel and possibly over some bridges may be illegal. I know your not supposed to have any type of pressurized vessels when driving through a tunnel in Md. (Propane tanks, Oxygen/Acetelyne etc.)

My point is Earl, everyone can't afford to put 15g's into their car to have a little fun with it and I'm tired of the TT guys saying thats the solution to everything. I know you are not a TT snob but SOME ARE. You know who I'm talking about.

Point taken...I still think a sticky posting all the key attributes of each of the more prevailing systems out there would be a great idea. There is no one system that is the "best". Each has compromises. Understanding those compromises before your hard earned dollars are spent is really the most important thing. I think we all get carried away in the system x vs. system Y discussion. It starts off fun, but usually doesn't end that way.

Default TX law about Nitrous

check this out and let me know if this is true.

Texas Nitrous Laws II

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe I can help those in Texas...

Under the Transportation Code I found NOTHING governing the usage or transportation of Nitrous Oxide on a non commercial vehicle. I have gone through
"Transportation and Movement of Vehicles" (Chapter 545 The BIG One0
"Vehicle Equipment"
"Motor Vehicle Safety and Responsibility Act"
"Modification of or Tampering with Equipment of Motor Vehicle"

Anyway no references to Nitrous Oxide at all.

Under the Health and Safety Code I found that Nitrous Oxide is NOT considered a Hazardous Substance. (They did not include Oxidizer in the description)

Nitrous is also NOT considerer a volitile chemical. (Health and Safety code)

So, I think we are cool...
In eight years of Law Enforcement I have never heard of anyone being ticketed/arrested for the transportation or usage of Nitrous Oxide, other than those that were involved in a street race at the time <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I also made some phone calls on this and could not find one Officer that knows anything about a law governing the usage or transportation of Nitrous Oxide on a noncommercial vehicle.

So from what the law states it is legal to transport. It is legal to be connected. Hell, it is legal to spray as long as you don't break any other laws...

BTW I hyperlinked the chapter 545 so you can look up basiclly anything to do with a traffic citation in Texas...

Just remember you'll want to cover the end of your main feed line if your going to leave the line off the bottle. you dont want a piece of carpet or whatever to end up in your nitrous noid.

i keep mine on the bottle with the bottle closed. i have no access to open the bottle from the cab so i think its enough to slide. also unless the nitrous is in plain view your pretty safe.
