Default Where's the weak link....

As you start to approach the 750+rwhp and 700+rwtq what else needs attention. Motors' forged, hardened output shaft, DTE brace, fuel system that will well support where I want to be... RPM has gone through my 6 speed, what am I missing? What are the 750+ people breaking????

what clutch? just curious...

Also, you've mentioned you have the rear brace from DTE... but is the rear stock? Will the rear support it? (I'm not sure if people start building the rears at that level or not)

All those built parts start to break with 750+rwhp.

I figured the street tire or DR tire would be the weak link. Lets face it.. 750+ on the street.. getting the power down will be interesing.

There is such a thing as too much for the street and I think 750 is past the line for most. I think a stick car would be brutal on the driveline at those levels.

You should be good. Just keep the wheel hop in check and don't do any clutch dumps on sticky tires. With a 6spd, the driver has to help keep it together.

On street tires, you will just spin all over the place.

Unfortunately, this requires a small amount of personal responsibility, which is lacking in today's society. I do however agree with you.

In the C-5 anything over 550rwhp is probally too much for the street, epecially on street tires.

I just hit about 800/950 on nitrous so i will let you know if anything breaks .

Getrag 342/H , stage 5 FLT all hardened and cryoed .

10.584 on one kit so far and shooting for 9.80s on both kits.

FF, are you doing autocross or drag racing ?

On the street with street tires , i dought you will ever break anything .

Thats the main reason i run nitrous .

I drive my car everyday with 500 rwhp and if need be step up to 650 or 800 if a pesky little cobra happens to show up

Frank,
how's the car been since you bought it...any problems?I was interested in Joe's car but just couldn't come up with the extra cash ...I was very disappointed as it was exactly what I was looking for.Did you have the car retuned as I know it was only making 630rwhp when Joe had it?

Unless you put the car into a tree because you can't keep the car planted.

Not one, it is a baby. I drive it all over...It is a diamond in the rough... At 630rwhp it was not even breathing heavy. However that is what Joe wanted and ECS built it. It is getting re-turned now. Every nut and bolt has been checked. I will post the number over the weekend.

Right on... I think most of us are all big boys and girls here and aware of the dangers. I was looking to the few that have gone down this path for experience on what to keep my eye on. I figured using street tires is one saving grace.

Then moving to an automatic was a good move for you. 6 speeds are not for everyone

Frank...that's good to hear...I'm glad the car is everything Joe said and more...keep us updated ...I'm just pi$$ed off that I couldn't come up with the extra $1500 to get it...some house remodeling put the damper on it
