Default APS FMIC install notes

just some minor things to point out

the brace on the inner fender that attaches to the aft headlight mount needs to be rem'd iaw APS instructions, be advised there are retaining clips on each stud(ie: oem brake rotor clips), you will need to remove the h/l assy to gain access to the clilps; also GM sometimes shims the aft mount with washers(there is one of three in the third pic)

97-00 owners: you won't have a vacuum line to the AIR pump, do not coil and tie off the pump wiring unless you plan on omiting the fog lights(LHS f/l wiring is part of the pump harness)

Default Item 230,231

I havent started install but while sorting parts into smaller labeled bag item 230 and 231 could not be found in instructions. Think these are for dipstick tube bracket. They did tap rt manifold for this. May have to shorten bracket because now its spaced out from head? Having cast parts coated this weekend. thanks for info above watching forum for any problems with installs.

you sure those tapped holes aren't for the heat shield?, 4 bolts/washers and s/s tie straps

most likely you'll need the '01 and newer style tube that bolts to the heads along w/ the newer d/s

1. looks like no room for oe foglights, BOV tubing is right there

2. F34/55 adj. suspension boxes won't fit with the discharge tube bolted in(allow a few hours for some fab work on the pipes)

3. early 97-00 maf req's a silicone tube coupling to fit correctly into the aps intake tubing or replace w/ later/bigger maf(01-04)

Do WHATEVER necessary to keep the fog lights please. I have no intentions or desire to lose those. Those MUST stay in my eyes.

Yeah, I ordered Bilstein HD's today and they'll be at the shop on Friday, and ordered new O2's and they'll be there tomorrow. I think Steve has everything else, but we were talking today and it's slow moving in somewhat uncharted territory.

Thanks for the updates on fit and such.

How is everything else going with the kit? Fit as expected?

Not sure about the fog lights right now, Steve hasn't updated me on those. There's going to be some custom work to get the clearance necessary from the BOV piping.....that's all I know there.

He told me last night that the left side turbo is in and mounted.

Can't the plates on the side of the skid rails be removed and the pipes run through the the skid instead of in front of it? Then the fogs would not be affected. Right?

once you 'alter' the sheetmetal near the turbos, they fit; only way in is manifold/turbo/exhaust all together

re: foglights, i think if we moved them forward they might work, no room to go inboard(frame rail)

in the directions, the f/l's are omitted and Z06 screens are suggested
