Having Traction problems....why not do this
the best "comprimise" for me would be a VERY free pivoting sway bar.
it would take some engineering to do, but it should help.
removing the bar is a bit too much for me, I'll maybe disconnect it at the track, but I like burning corners a bit too much to remove it.
my old buick turbo has big ol sway bars on it and poly bushings and wide tires, it's still like a shopping cart with a bad wheel when comparing the handling to the z06, but it's sure better than stock!!
two things to keep in mind, you setup a car to handle well, or hook well, and stiff springs/shocks/bars that go well with handling, don't help the hook at all.
I like my vette biased more toward handling, but make the "concession" using nitto 335s. not as good as an M&H or a BFG to be sure, but sticky enough to not spin so bad, and a stiff enough sidewall to handle well.
good point you made about the sway bars, just DON'T get rid of the back one as it can help plant the tires and even out the torq a bit.
we found that bigger bars can do well and would likely work on the IRS too, never validated that?? what do you think?
I'm confused!

personally i am not a big fan of taking a car that is designed to handle and making into a shopping cart...JMO
I live with the front swaybar off, and the front end is looser than stock... but I am also not kicking myself in the a$$ when I lose to someone with less HP cause I am spinning down the track
Do you guys still have your front sway bar connected?
Traction is about weight transfer, (and some right pedal control)... I am able to drive my tti-x at 18# on the street on 315x40x18 BFG drag radials (@25-28#) and I do not have traction issues.

It certainly helps if it is off at the drags!
weight transfer!
