throw a new crank sensor in it or scope the current. @ 23 bits u''ll only sample 10 frames per second. wouldnt count on the scanner to pick it up. not saying that its impossible but..........
Good luck with getting it sorted out Chris. I trashed a set of MSD wires last fall. Car was falling on its face, felt like I was losing fuel pressure or something. Changed the wires out and felt like a whole new car.

Hmm, sounds like what mine is doing. I will add that to my list to check.
well the upside to this is that maybe the weather will be better next time I dyno...Yesterday it was 84 degs and 70% humidity
Chris, start with the wires. I had MSD's on my car, they were fine, when I did my build I bought a new set thinking I would just replace the old ones since everything else was new, they were garbage. Lots of issues, replaced with stockers and everything was good! Good luck!
Dan
Chris any news yet? I replaced my Taylor wires with MSDs after I fried several, guess I should have bought another set of Taylor's, what wires do Doug and Chris use
Chris your car sounds sick with the cutouts open and can not wait until she is all running top notch
I just checked my wires. They all ohmed 25-26 except for one. It was at 60, wiggled it the it read 80 and then 130. The crimp on one end was a little loose. Crimped it tight and it read 25.. Hopefully this was the problem. Too wet outside to go for a test drive...

Where's the fingers crossed emoticon? Looking for an ohm meter to check mine out Did you just pull them off completely and ohm them or is there a certain way?

Awesome. Glad you figured it out.
Yeah you're suppose to get rain for the next couple of days. Was just down your way in Dallas from Monday thru Thursday, got out just before the bad weather was coming in.
Not much better up here in Philly, PA, no rain but chilly.

Not so sure that Taylors are the answer I had an issue with mine on 2 cylinders and put on MSDs when I put in my Exoskel 5k ago and no issues, ECS is using the LS7 wires per what I saw on there website, under the complete package of blower and motor
Chris have you do a WOT after the wire fix, you have had dry roads for two days now
My car seems to go through wires about every year and a half. Taylors fell apart when I tried to take them off after 1 year on the car! They were brittle and the boots fell off. I switched to MSD's and they went a year and a half and then the car did the same thing your car was doing (cutting out about 5300-5500 RPM'S), but they were not brittle and falling apart. I changed plugs and still the same thing. I checked the resistance on the wires and they were junk as well. I just replaced them with another set of MSD's and the sputtering was gone. My guess is that the plug wire was and/or the wires are your culprit.

No test drive yet, tonight. I was rearranging the bedroom and setting up our new computer yesterday...

Yeah my wires are still like new. But I have had them on and off the car a dozen times, just loosened up a terminal. Recrimped it and it ohmed like new again...
