Default Dynoed today

went today..problems. ..Car is cutting out at 5500rpm. almost sounds like spark blowout. regaped plugs to .028 same thing, then new Tr6s gapped at .026 and still the same.. Maybe wires..I need to ohm them. There MSD with only 2000 miles on them. Or maybe crank sensor air gap?? Don't know...Sucks though...Made 690rwhp/640rwtq at 5500rpm at 16psi of boost....11.8/1AFR and 16deg timing..Time to tear back into it..

Make sure dwell time is not to high, or something else in the tune before you go nuts tearing it back apart.

Log rpm to, that way you can see if you are losing tach signal from the reluctor wheel. I have had that problem on a 447 that had a fualty made crank shaft and man was that a %@#$!!

If thats fine go to throttle and so on till you find it. btw, I'm really not a fan of MSD wires, way to many problems from them.

Good luck, just start with the basics and break it down, dont get to discouraged, you will figure it out and all will be right with the universe again.

Thanks guys. The dwell is still at stock settings. The MSD wires are 2 years old with 3K miles on the. I'm going to ohm them tomorrow..Any other wire recommendations?? The crank is still the factory crank that was in my stock motor.. We logged the rpm and didn't see any drop off..

Just kick back and make a list of what you did (ie. re-trace your steps) and verify everything twice. You'll find it.

I have a few quirks to still work out from all of my conversion work but I won't be able to clean things up for a while until I get the car aligned to eliminate some of the warning lights I am getting, but I have it all narrowed down to a few items.

Good luck.

Hey bro-that’s some damn good numbers at 5500 rpm. Ideally you should think about running a colder plug, a #7 at least, I’m actually going to 8’s. What about fuel pressure-did you moniter it-is it holding steady or dropping off? What about meth? Are running meth as well? I can’t see the crank sensor being an issue unless you have an aftermarket crank-your still stock 347 right? Check the ends of the wires where they plug into the spark plugs. I ran MSD’s years ago but the ends would slowly open up then became loose on the plug-I since switched to Taylor thundervolts 10.9mm wires. If they snap on nice and tight then the wires should be okay.

Check one thing at a time-take a breather and don't get stressed-you'll be OVER 750 very soon!

I will try the taylors..Fuel pressure is great jumps up to around 70psi as boost increases, it goes up. Yep, running Meth as well. Running my stock crank. The MSDs do snap on tight. I didn't think I would need #7s until I was over 800rwhp.

Thanks for the help
Chris
