Default Engine containment blanket ?

Our local track, after several recent oildowns(not vettes) has decided to mandate engine blankets or diapers on ALL cars running 11.99 or faster. Now,the reason for postine here. I have a TTix car and there is absolutely NO room for anything under there, much less a big diaper ! So,any ideas ? Anyone running one or ever see one on a C5 ? Thanks, frustrated in Utah !

Our track requires a cage for 11.50s and I ain't got that so I just hit the breaks at the end until I'm done. Then I go and get booted.

Yeah,I finally buckled and did the 6 pt rollbar and harnesses. Now,since we had a couple cars SOAK the track with expired engines, they have decided to push this as well. All cars,11.99 or faster so what can you do ? I spoke with a place that can custom build one for our cars, along with heat shielding to protect it from the heat of the Turbos,I guess that is what I am going to do. NO hitting the brakes,I want some low 10s !

Wow, does that go for test-N-tune? Here's one that might work.

Well since I have been easing down the 11sec ladder, they havent nailed me yet. However after last weeks fiasco with the rail, they are going to insp every 11sec- car there. I suppose 12.02 will be ok but thats boring. The link you posted may work for a stock C5 but I fear with the TTi cars(and the APS cars for that matter) we are going to have a problem clearing the turbos. DRE has agreed to custom build one for my car,I am going to have a local shop make a canvas template or pattern and have them duplicate it in the correct material.I will post a pic when I get it done, appears there is very little call for these as none of the 9sec cars have posted having to run one ?

In many ways.....thank **** I dont live over there.

Some of the rules are just crazy....and some seem to only have relevance to old antiquated cars.

Over here in the UK, they are quite lax.....but hell, even POS 1500cc cars etc etc break down and spew crap all over the track.

And reality is,its the cars that are baling wired together or the overboosted rice that blow up but how do you catch them ? Sadly we have to pay the price and the 14sec time bombs will continue to blow up !

Pre-race scrutineering should be able to tell the junkers, from sensibly put together builds.

Blanket rules like that are just daft.....

Extreme Scenario....

Bugatti Veyron, or Maclaren F1, low 10sec cars give or take.

Is there anything in the current NHRA rules that would either be feasible, or make such a car safer ???
Can a cage be welded to their carbon chassis ? How a parachute on them to help them slow down ?

Even the Vette's....given their Alloy construction...how do you guys fit cages when forced to do so ??
