Default Need Help

I got a 2002 Z making 420ish to the ground. I am running nitrous(100wet shot) on a NX system. During some runs tonight the car leaned out and with the MAX III system and the nitrous shut off. We had a laptop connected to the system during the runs and it showed a lean spike on initial hit. After the hit and lean spike the A/F slowly cam down but not but not fast enough for the MAX III system. The safety features in place and Y band shut off is at 13.5 a/f . We are thinking that my fuel system is not able to keep up. With 420ish to the ground and 30lb SVOs on a stock fuel system. Am I reaching the limits of the stock fuel system? If so, will a upgraded fuel pump be the best route?
Any comments will be appreciated it.

whats up dave,
i dont think your fuel pump is the problem, as i made 450 then hit it with a 150 shot. i think its something to do with your controllers, or your wideband isnt getting a good reading.
Or you just may need a some tuning to richin the car up alittle

Better yet ditch the nitrous and go FI

Even if the pump is not your problem I would sleep better with a BAP and or better pump.Chris Stewart makes big power with a stock Z06 pump and BAP.

One thing you have to keep in mind is time alignment of events. You need to know how quick your wideband is. Some are pretty slow compared to others. Try logging a WOT hit without the nitrous and see if you get the same lean spike. If so, it's not from the nitrous.

I did log a run without the nitrous and no lean spike. It was a high 12.

Time to add a fuel pressure log to the mix then.

You have to rig up a sensor if you want to log it in HPT. The redneck way to do it is to hook up a pressure gauge, lay it against the windshield, and have someone watch it while you're making a hit on the spray.

I had a friend spray 250 wet kit on a stock LS1 and the stock fuel pump wouldn't keep up.

hehehe....

I do, too. There is at least one photo of my car going down the road with no hood after putting the new engine in and getting the tune in such a state that it'd move under its own power.
