Default Help identify this vortech head unit

My SC kit was purchased pre-owned and as best I can tell I have a V2 head unit but I'm not sure the trim. It's one of the Vortech setups back when they were building the entire kit:

Any ideas on what this is? I'm searching for specs and such so i don't sound like a complete noob in my car club.

First centrifugal unit I've ever seen on the drivers side on a vette. From my understanding is that it would not be a reverse rotation unit if that were the case.

I'm sure someone will chime in. Like I said, that is a first for me, but that does not mean much.

It is a reverse rotation SC Trim (or at least it should be)
It is slightly smaller than an S trim. That is generally what was used in their systems.
Vortech has since halted production of all C5 systems and refers callers to us.
If you call us with the Serial number, we'll let you know exactly what it is.

I checked your Serial #.
It is a V2 S Trim. The SC Trim was only used in the Z06 kit.

The serpentine runs a jackshaft that runs a short cog.

Exactly how old is this unit? What is the life expectancy on them assuming proper and moderate use (street machine only no racing)

Reason I ask is that it's suppoed to be a 6psi setup but according to my boost gauge i dont' see above 4. Granted my 14 year old motor has ~130K miles on it and doesn't seal as well as it used to, but i figured i'd see at least 5psi from it.

thoughts?

I believe it was from 2002 and it had never been in for any service. As long as it's not leaking oil and not making any funny sounds, you're good. You could change the cog pulley on the blower to get a couple more psi, but history has shown that when you up the power with that kit, you run into belt problems.

I'll wipe it clean and check tomorrow after a brief drive.

I appreciate all your help

I've got the same kit on mine. I am in the process of taking it off and going to N/A. The kit is throwing belts like mad, and my patience has been spent!

I'm curious which belts this kit is throwing. Since I've had mine (4000 miles on it so far) I have yet to have a belt-thrown.

Mine keeps eating serpintine belts. What pulley do you have on your jackshaft?

Any chance you can find out what model of v2 sq mine is? I'm hoping it's a SQ SI trim and not a SCI trim.
