Now that I have had my Procharger, LG LT's, and 3.42 gears in my A4 03 Coupe for a month now....been thinking of adding a Torque Convertor but looking for some info. I know adding one will require a new tune - will it change my Dyno #'s much? What increase can I expect? Looking at Yank but not sure if 2800, 3200, 3600 would be the best fit. I dont track the car - just street use only (not my DD).
Talk to Dave at Yank he can steer you in the right direction.
I run a SS2800 and it does a good job though alittle sloppy
in reverse.
No you are not going to increase or decrease your dyno
numbers.
You will lose your stock converter in time so shop now.
You need to change your couplers too. You will need stronger
ones. Look in the Search engine alot of talk on different kinds.
If you have a stock tranny shop now 4 th is weak , you may
be able to nurse your stock tranny for a while mine lasted
3 years. Or you could lose it next week.
Good luck---
Thanks, RP - I'm hoping the tranny lasts a bit since as of now, it only has 11,000 miles on it. In the mean time I'll do some reading up on the Yank's.
i have a RPM converter i believe they are made by Vigilante it a 3000 tight, Awesome when your driving around and you notice it when you hit the pedal. Lockup is significantly harder than stock. I am pleased with mine as of now but as other will say i am sure that you can go larger but for me with 550RWHP it fits perfectly
