It is 215 mph at 7k in 5th with the standard C5 or C6 trans, Not the C5 Z06 trans. That would be a little less speed. With the C6 trans, 3.42 gears and 345 30 19 tires I went 215mph at 7k rpm at the Texas Mile.
hey physics dude,,,,i am running a 27.5" or 28" tall rear tire and may be making 875 rwhp....I am running the t 6060 tranny so I think the tranny could handle 6th gear....what do you think would be my top speed? what do you think would be the top speed of a twin turbo car making 1100 ish rear wheel? in the 240's or better...maybe 230 plus mph for 875 rear wheel? cool thread!! how much does weight factor in to this equation?
I don't really have any extensive experience with high speed runs... I'm just good at math
I'm hoping to go 200MPH in the Texas Mile, but that probably won't be until 2015.

I have a C6 Z06. One of my friends, customer, went 198.6mph in a 03 Z06. Stock trans and diff. It was like 7200rpm with larger than stock tires. This was in March at the Texas Mile. I have seen a C5 Z06 run 216 a couple of times down here, Not sure of his gearing.
So I went to a closed course to try out a few runs. I got up to a gps confirmed 193 and I got scared and backed off. I felt the front get a little light and decided to stop the run. It would have easily broke 200+. Would a vented hood help keep the front more grounded? Never been that fast even on my R1 I only got up to 188.
And the thing was still pulling like a freight train at those speeds it was unreal. When my C5 was stock I ran it to 175 but it took forever to get there. not anymore.
Just comparing my experience when my car was stock it felt rather sluggish in fifth gear after my upgrades it feel real fast in comparison. And it was an expression it does not actually feel like a train.
Not sure what tire size the OP is running, but he has an FRC which has the same gearing as you do...here's a website that might help him http://www.f-body.org/gears/
