I removed the stock oil fill tube and installed the MM oil adapter. Fits MUCH better and will work perfectly. Also I added a flexible oil dipstick to my "if I win the lottery list" because its always a PITA with the headers to re install it.

I like it. Think I'm going to get me one.

Is that o ring in far enough to seal?

I only hand tightened it as I still need to add oil to the motor.

Put in some time today taking care of little stuff.
  1. Made sure wires were clear of headers
  2. Routed lines for MM PCV can
  3. Mounted MM PCV can
  4. PS fluid added
  5. Alt. installed (again)
  6. Vacuum line to BOV installed
  7. Holley fuel rails installed
  8. Made the AN fuel lines for fuel rails
  9. test fit the covers for front of car (over rad)
  10. Connected wires for injectors, tb, alternator, coolant temp sensor and others I don't remember

Mounted the MM can where its hidden from view but I can still easily access it. Used some padded hose clamps near the filter to make sure the lines don't move much.

I have to pick up a -10 AN male to hose fitting for catch can, add oil, install plugs/wires, flash ecu before I start it. It really needs to warm up above freezing soon...

Looking good! When do you think you'll start it up?

It finally got above freezing here today

How is the catch can routed? port near/on throttle body-->catch can-->SC air filter? Then everything else basically capped off?

I'm looking at the draft can so it will be a little different, but figured I'd ask

Thanks!

It's going to be below freezing all week, this make an entire month never being above freezing. That means this weekend (if it warms up) or I continue waiting as I the head unit shouldn't be ran under 25*.

For the can, port A is a boost nipple and goes to the intake manifold port behind throttle body. Port B is the -10 an from the oil cap, and the valley cover goes to the filter on the head unit.

Gotcha. That's what I was thinking on the catch can.

On the cold temps thing.. I started and drove mine at 5*F the other morning, no problems. I know Doug posted about just taking it easy until it's warmed up. But it's not my money so I probably shouldn't advise you to go against the manufacturers recommendations lol

Great to hear about the temp. I think idling it will be fine, but we had many days where the high was hovering around 0 with -30s at night. The motor was chilled to say the least. Hoping for this weekend, I just want to hear it run so I can rule out any mistakes during the build to this point

Yeah, probably will be.. but wow that's cold. We had record colds here at around 0*F. Coldest I've ever seen aside from trips to Michigan

Maybe put a heater on it for a while first? I dunno.. that's freagin cold.

If you don't mind me asking.. what are the details on the AN fitting connected to the valve cover? What size hose?

Just something like this, in black..?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aeroquip-Hos...-/190975827980

I like the location you've mounted the can.. I may can get the air oil separator that I already have to fit there.

edit: yeah the one I have won't fit there. It's just a tiny bit too big. Boo

I have the -10 an oil cap adapter, so its a -10 AN female 90* to hose barb

Yes - just like the one you posted. Here is the one I have

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-220713-b

The hose is 5/8 in. I.D and David from MM told me that the -10 will breath the same as a -6 from each valve cover. I just used heater hose for the -10 an line.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gtr-65071

It looks like Sunday is the day to start it, going to be in the 20s

Have my 2 bar base tune from a local shop that I will use for start up. I believe I have 2 extra credits for the OS upgrade. Pumped and nervous to say the least

If you are talking about HP tuners the OS upgrade is now free.

Yep, it's free!

One thing I would say.. if you're doing the OS upgrade yourself, be sure to put in the right MAP sensor values.. on mine after doing the OS upgrade it automatically tried to change the MAP sensor values to the values for a different sensor. No idea what sensor, but it sure as heck wasn't what was in my original file and didn't match the sensor I had..

We expect pictures or video of the first start!

Thanks for the heads up, I wouldn't have guessed it would try to do that. GoPro video + pics will be posted no doubt!

SHES ALIVE

My GoPro battery wasn't charged so I don't have video today, but I will take some video tomorrow!

Feels good to know the motor is happy with the new cam/lifters/etc. Sounds like a beast with no mufflers.

So pumped!!
