Default ECS fuel ring install help

So I spent the last few hours trying to get the damn ECS fuel ring bolts in to the tank. Needless to say, it didn't line up. I am able to get 3 bolts in but the others do not line up with the tank (they do insert into the ring).

The kit came with 4 o rings, so I installed them on both sides of the ring. That means on the tank side there is the OEM gasket then orings. Could this be my issue? The directions are not clear that only two should be used.

About ready to pull my hair out...

pretty sure there are 2 versions of it that have a different bolt pattern.... sounds like you have the wrong one.

O'rings, gaskets shouldn't effect alignment.

Try without, are the bolts long enough ?

Try rotating the ring

There are two sets of holes in the ring, I am able to line those up with the factory fuel hat so I assumed I had the correct pattern. They are off mating to the tank. I am wondering if the double gasketed side facing the tank (OEM gasket | O-ringed fuel run) could be messing it up.

Then again who the hell knows, out of ideas. I'll be calling ECS tomorrow.

Bolts are long enough as I can get 3 of them in and tightened. Its the rest that just don't line up with the tank holes. IDK what else to try

I tried the ring in a few diff positions and then no bolts line up.

I assume you're starting/trying all the bolts before tightening

Tightened is a bad word, I should have said I was able to use my hand to screw them in more. I can't line them all up at all, even completely loose. I'll grab a pic so I appear sane.

Hi , I`m sure you have tried , but could you check the ring is rotated to the correct clocked position , those bolt holes in the tank are a bit odd , and think it will only align in one position , just saying bud .

Here are a few pictures showing the bolts passing through the ring. When I attempt to then line it up with the tank, all the bolts do not line up. It's like I need to twist the ring counter clock wise a little more but I can't. I am able to get three bolts to start but the rest no dice. The pictures have no bolts connected so its not turned as much as if I was attempting to thread the bolts.

I had a similare issue and I realized that, at different times, I had the OEM gasket improperly oriented or the fuel ring adapter was.

The orientation of the ring should look like this:

Thanks I looked at the OEM gasket before it does seem it can only go on two ways due to the flat part of the gasket. Hoping I just need to rotate it.

No dice, the OEM gasket only lines up one way for me. I was originally sent a C6 kit, are there different rings for each kit? When I use the other set of holes the fuel ring sits flush as I thought it should, the holes just don't line up.

C6's don't use that ring.. They have a fuel block kind of like a bulkhead where you have to drill a hole in the tank

I took a short video showing the issue. I am using the only set of holes that line up with the factory fuel hat, the other set doesn't line up properly. I hope I am just doing something stupid...

Based on patches pictures it looks like I need to turn the pump counter clock wise but I cant. It won't move...so do I need to take the pump out and try to re install at a different angle?

I had a similar issue while doing mine, I ended up finding out the return tube was hitting the inside of the tank not allowing it to be allined right. I just "massaged" the tube to allow the adapter to align correctly. I ended up having to shorten the bolts that came with my kit also, they were bottoming out before the bolts were even close to the fuel hat. I hope this helps you.

Pulled pump and rotated and re installed, didn't seem to change a thing. Still nothing lines up due to rotation...at my whits end. Might just drill the tank if I can't get this figured out soon.

I shouldn't have to force the pump counter clockwise for things to line up. It's not clear what I am doing wrong.
