Default Getting Supercharged, got ?'s

I am in the process of purchasing a kit from the classifieds. I have a few questions to figure out what it is I need to do next:

1. Can you have too much injector? If i dont plant on going all out at first and keeping it around 550 rwhp, can I still use 60 lb injectors? Or do i need to use 42lb until I power up?

2. This kit comes with an 8-rib drive system with Innovators West 8” overdrive crank pulley. Do you still need to pin the crank, or does the aftermarket crank pulley take care of that issue?

3. Planning on doing the install myself. Any big issues i might see? I know removing the rack can be problematic if you dont isolate the steering wheel. What else?

4. What else do i need to consider?

The #60 injectors will work

You will still need to pin the crank

You will need a bigger fuel pump or a Boost a pump!

I have 78# injectors with 450hp you're fine. Get a GOOD (I used snapon) line wrench for the power steering lines and the rack wont be too bad. It doesnt need to come all the way out, just into the passenger wheel well. Consider a speed density tune and research a good catch can/pcv system that fits your build. Good luck!

Kit comes with a boost a pump. How much hp will that support before i have to install another pump?

I plan on running a fuel presuure/boost gauge and a wideband monitor. What other gauges are you guys using with your 3 gauge pods?

Keep thinking of more.

Do i need to run cooler plugs? Recs?

I have xs power lt headers with 1 3/4 primaries and 3" catted xpipe thru stock titanium mufflers. At what point do i need bigger primaries?

headers are good and the ti is good some cars here make 900 hp on that set up!

Yes colder plugs NGK TR6 .30 gap. If you run bigger gap the boost will blow out the spark.

60's are perfectly fine, I would still recommend at least a 255 walbro in tank pump and a hotwire harness along with the boost a pump that comes with your kit... with that same setup and meth that supported a little over 700rwhp in my situation... I am running 127lb injectors now, probably in the 825-850rwhp range on a stock block/head ls6, and that may sound huge and overkill for an injector but my car will start right up every time and runs great, the key here is a good tuner... if they know what they are doing they can work around the big injector so your car runs good and still give you quite a bit of room to grow

yes you will still need to pin the crank... I would recommend innovators pin kit over the standard pin kit that most use on stock balancers... innovators pin kit is real nice, it uses part of the keyway of their balancer to hold a large dowel in place and then you drill out and insert 3 small pins into that dowel... either way you go with the pin kits don't forget to add some sealant to the keyway if you're using a stock crank otherwise you might end up with an oil leak

tr6 plugs gapped at .035 should be fine in my opinion... if you already have 1 3/4" headers just keep them, you can still make real good power with them no problem... if I didn't already have headers I might go with 1 7/8" but they are pricey for the top brands... in my opinion it wouldn't be worth buying another set compared to the gains you may or may not get over the ones you already have... it would also be a good idea to double and triple check your pulley alignment before running the car... gates makes a good laser alignment tool and Bret has a great sticky at the top of this section of how to properly calibrate them... a&a makes a great kit, the best one out there for our cars in my opinion, so you will probably be fine on the belt alignment for the blower side but your alternator or power steering pump could also be out of whack... basically it's just a good idea to check this before you get the car running that way you don't run into belt issues after the fact

Maybe a good clutch down the road also if you haven't done one already with the added power. Your going to love the new found power!

Currently have an ls7 clutch which I think will be good for the first stage of this project. But I am already looking at replacements like the RST.

Currently running MT ET II streets (305/35/18). Almost down to wear bars after about 2500 miles. UGH.

Diff brace and shafts are on my list.

Anything to torque tube?

While not 100% necessary, pretty well known that superchargers and cats don't always get along well. The cats tend to melt sometimes. You might have to go catless or mod your existing. Do some Google searches on the subject.

Must Pin the Crank no matter what

Find the PDF or instructions from the manufacturer of the kit or A&A's install instructions - that will go a long way

See below for #4
#4:

(1) Hotwire kit for the Fuel Pump -
http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.a...WH-007&eq=&Tp=

(2) 1/4" Stainless Steel Pin and jig (if does not come with kit)

(3) NGK TR6 plugs or BR7EF (non protruding tip) gapped at .028 - .032 (as mentioned)

(4) Gauges - Fuel pressure - Vac/Boost - AFR

(5) Methanol Injection (eventually for safety, fuel Octane and more HP)
http://www.alkycontrol.com/

(6) A good F/I tuner

Thanks,Matt

I ran the ls7 clutch as well for awhile. If you really don't plan on going any higher on the power ( unlike myself and most of us on here ) then that clutch will work up to about 560RWHP. After a couple hits back to back doing rolls around 40mph it starts to slip and won't engage at the bottom. It finally let loose on the dyno when I added more power. Went with the monster LT1-SC so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I dont plan on going up in power UNTIL i get the rear and tranny beefed up. At that point, I will upgrade clutch too. and then go all out with hopefully blower cam and heads as well.

1 step at a time...

A couple more questions:

I'm right at 100k miles. Is there anything I should freshen up while i have the front end torn apart? Water pump? Motor mounts?

I have the KB BAP. Do I need to buy a wiring harness for it like the racetronix? Per A&A website, the KB BAP says it uses stock wiring. I'm sure I would benefit from upgrading it for less voltage drop?
