Power doesnt burn valves

Very unusual for such a small piece. What does the valve seat look like ? Has anything ever went through the engine ?

NO heat and a ton of abuse does! And as I stated earlier about the seat, could be an issue! As many passes as this car has had, casting could of just failed. My question is where is the piece???

I guess abuse could do it but I'd think something specific must have happened to cause that. I'd be curious what it is before fixing it....

That damage is more like physical damage, where something has gone through the engine.

Not a typical burnt valve...and from the picture it isnt even clear if it's an inlet or exhaust.

Abuse will not do that to a valve...other than poor valvetrain setup or bad tuning "abuse".

But yes, a good picture of the seat would be helpful.

Intake valve. The car went lean at the end of the 1/4 when the belt was coming off,Don't know why it went lean, But I kept my foot in it and I guess thats a no no,Oh well, Result, burnt valve

that'd do it for sure! curious what whp and how many passes/miles you have on that motor?

at least relatively easy to fix assuming that chunk didn't mar the cylinder!

If the motor has been so lean it's damaged a valve, then you can be sure the pistons/rings will also be ****ed.

Again, either that or something has gone through the engine and caused that damage

Many ported heads do that Paul, the rocker bolt needs some sealant on it when it goes back in. Glad to see you're getting to the bottom of it.

Hey Doug,I sent you a PM,Can you look at post #6 in this thread,I did a pressure test and air was bleeding out of the SC.You can see in the picture I'm pointing at.Is that normal? And yes I did put sealant on the intake rocker bolts
