LPE Supercharger

#2 The power band is more linear vs centrifigal curves that seem to peak towards the top of the RPM range so while it is superior on the Dyno how superior is it on the street and or track? I have not seen any out standing times on the ATI cars just big Dyno #s ala Supras.
#3 The stock bottom end on the Vette has some reliability issues above the 500 rwhp mark.
#4 Do ATI blowers offer a 3 yr warranty on the motor and drive train? Magnusson DOES.
#5 The ugly hood issue is subjective as we have sold 2 of the aftermarket hoods to NON SUPERCHARGED customers.
I would give up some peak HP on the dyno for a more reliable
everyday driver with a Warranty!

Anyone reviewing this post should look at the the numbers being compared at http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=390278 -- they speak for themself.
Also for an additional $50 I did get a 3 year warranty on the ATI system which still makes it considerably less expensive than the Magneson with hood. You are right -- no warranty on the drive train. But I imagine the warranty that comes with the Magneson only covers failures that can be attributed to the SC.
As far as bottom end problems I have not seen the problems you speak of, in fact most of what I have seen indicates that the stock bottom end can handle 600hp without problems. No flames intended.
Is there anyone out there that has any Qtr mile times on Street tires better than 11.7s @ 126 with the forementioned ATI???
There are many other factors in making the decision between a ATI and
a Magnusson but peak HP #s would not do it for me.
Have you driven both?Another thought is we can arrange for some spirited
street driving or track competition between a Magnusson and an ATI.
No flames intended,
J.P.

It was a tough decision for me to pick between the two products and only time will tell if I made the right decision. Best of luck with your business venture with LPE -- no one could argue with that decision.:D:D

i get no possitive manifold pressure till 3700 rpm and at 6000 shes all done.
I take serious issue with that! :D
Ya call this ugly?
Hell, I LOVE this hood!
As for the ATI not looking good, I guess I'd have to differ. Looks great to me.
Particularly when you're a dozen car lengths ahead :)

C'mon Tom, that is so not the case.

LT1pwrd'94: We must have posted at the same time or I didn't notice yours, so I'll edit this one. I really didn't mean to offend. The Magnuson is an outstanding choice -- I just didn't want a different hood. My car is very stealth. From the outside, there is nothing that makes it look like it puts out more power than stock.
As for the dynos, nothing yet. Mike's still working on the last things. I'm driving it, but pretty gentle to do the break-in, then he'll finish. The belt slips. When done, it will be 11-12 pounds of boost, so Mike's guessing 600+ rwhp, I'm hoping closer to 700.

I have nothing against the Magnacharger it looks like a great kit and people are having great results with it...

1) I'm not a huge fan of the hood. I prefer my car in sleeper mode without the bog hood. I happen to like the graceful curve to the stock hood. Of course, everyone has their own prefereances, so I'm not going to flame it. It looks ok- just not for me, IMHO.
2) The lack of an IC in the Texas heat. This shouldn't be a huge issue, but it still concerns me.
Having said that: I love the idea of dropping my car off a LPE for ANYTHING. Based on what I've seen around the forum and what I saw last weekend at their shop, I would GLADLY leave my baby there. If I were seriously considering installing a S/C, my decision would be EXTREMELY difficult. More peak HP? Reliability? LPE name and tuning? Sheesh.
I will say this though: I saw a H/C and catback 99 put down 394 HP last weekend for about $4k out the door . I know where MY money will end up going. :yesnod:
I understand your opinion of the hood, we can also do a
Stage 1, 2 or 3 Twin Turbo and you can retain your stock hood
as well as the "stock like" idle and a 2 yr Warranty.
