That is on the drivers side frame rail inside the rear wheel well splash guard.

I've always wondered about this...are there any other good reasons to mount the BAP back there that I'm missing besides "it stays cooler than the engine bay" and "my plug-n-play harness was designed that way"? My knowledge of basic electronics tells me that if you're trying to transmit a large amount of power over a distance, it's more efficient to do it at a higher voltage. It would make more sense to me to mount the BAP up front, and reduce the loss across the long wire to the pump by running it at the BAP voltage (17-21V) instead of the alternator voltage (13-14V). If engine bay heat is a concern, the area behind the driver's side front wheel well splash guard seems like a good option, since hotwire kits run the fuel pump power feed down there anyway. Then again, maybe the difference is really small and I'm just overthinking it. I'm a digital electronics guy, don't do much with power electronics, but I can try to run the numbers and see what I come up with.

I'm with you, in fact when I ordered mine from LPE they recommended mounting it by the battery and stock ecu.

A great way to melt the electrical center terminals and heat soak the BAP!

We have found the left rear quarter panel to be the best place to mount the BAPs after trying all the other locations over the years.

Can you elaborate please? How so? Why ok for the ECU and not the BAP?
