Good idea

Honestly I do not have any other keys on my key ring other then the key to the car and its Fob. The gerage door opener or home link in the car is what one should use to get in their house anyways. (perhaps a spare house key in the glove box if ur paranoid)

This is what a Lexus key looks like.

This is what the VW key looks like with the key closed.

Same key with it opened

And last the key Pad for the Vette ( Opened ) not much meat to insert the stem of the key.

Sorry for the fuzzy pictures, had to use my cell phone to take these photos.

To answer a few questions that came up.

This isn't a Vette key so there is no "chip" on it. I didn't want to cut up my Vette key so I used a GM one I had laying around.
I don't carry any other keys on my Vette keyring. I don't like a ton of keys dangling from the ignition so I don't need a hole for a keyring.
I don't have the engineering ability to make it a VW "switchblade" type but that would be very cool.

Sponge Vette - that VW key, does it open by pressing the button? Spring loaded?

I have considered making spring loaded or 'solid' key+fobs but unfortunately I don't think there's much of a market. The cost would be fairly prohibitive. Just a C5 key alone is fairly expensive (my dealer wanted something insane like $125). Then a fob (just a normal C5 fob) is like $25 or more. Nevermind adding in extra parts and labor to modify the 2. You'd be talking over $200-250. For a key.

I actually am working on the combo key FOB right now, were entering production in a few weeks after we tweek the design a little bit. Here is a close idea of the finished product. This has a GM pellet key, and will house our remote/fobs making it a fully functional piece. Please post responses on whether you like it or not and what you think.

I like that alot. Would you send in your Vette key, you modify it, and send it back?
What will the price be?
