Damn, I wish I could buy a GM key fob for 25 bucks. Have you ever priced vert fobs? Well over 100 bucks for it alone.

But I agree, the final cost would be tres expensive...

I would like to get one. I hate the fob bouncing arround the keyring and hitting the dash as I drive. Yeah, I know I can take the key off the fob. But then I'd have two things to keep track of rather than one.

BlackC5Vette,
A thought for your new product. If you are having a mold made to shoot the plastics for the outer case, consider shooting some in clear polycarbonate. You could leave some that way, cause it is always cool to see the electronics inside. Or - - you could take it apart, mask off the outside of the part and spray the inside with what ever color you wanted, then reassemble. You can match vette color easily, or spray with translucent color, enabling you to still see the electronics inside but colored.
When the Palm III went into production back in 1997, I had several sets of plastic shot in clear, just to allow me to check the fit and clearances. They became a hit, and I had to have about 3000 sets shot in clear, and we painted some on the inside for color effect.
Just a thought. I would definitly buy a couple of sets of outer plastics from you, just to play.

Good luck with the product. I think it will do great.

I'm definitely interested in the 'folding' key/fob combination. This looks great! More details please!

How does the GTO key compare to the vette key? same shape and resistor? Maybe they're swappable!

I don't know if vert fobs are any different (don't see how), but I just bought a pair of new C5 fobs for my father's Z06 for $35 + $9 shipping. Genuine GM.

*cough check ebay cough* Don't go to the stealership.

Thoughts: Love the idea! Love sempi's suggestion re: the clear/color matchable... Anyway to include an integrated programable button for garage doors??

Thats a really good idea and we even considered doing it, but the size would be a drawback since the unit would have to be expanded to accomodate the garage remote. We are still open to suggestions like this though!
