Yup mine is a 1500 HD and HD towing package. It has almost a 9000 lbs rated towing capcity. It works fine except on long up hills I have to slow way down. This truck is also my daily driver

Your car is 3200 plus a 28 foot enclosed is about 3500 so that is 7,000 lbs

Plus any other junk or lugage you carry. It adds up fast.

FWIW, my trailer empty weighs 6,000 lbs... loaded I am looking at 12,000 lbs. With a 15,000 GVW trailer there is a little room to spare. With the combined truck, camper, trailer (loaded) I roll down the road at 21,000 or 22,000 lbs total. When my brakes wear out on the trailer, I will look into upgrading to Disc all the way around. That has to be much better than the old electric brakes.

If you're going to spend the money, you might as well do it right. I played with the idea of buying a trailer for a couple of years, even borrowed a couple to try out (20 ft enclosed, 24 ft enclosed and a 20 ft open) tryed to use my '03 Expedition w/tow package. Worked OK, but hills where a killer. (I live in the Blue Ridge Mts of VA) Finally settled on a 44ft gooseneck pulled by a '03 F350 SD dually. Trailer has 110V package, AC/heat, winch, cabinets, work bench, tire rack, etc. The F350, w/the 6.0 diesel can't be beat. It tackles the mountains here and doesn't even breathe hard. Just my 2 cents worth...Just do some research and picks what's best for you.
