Where do you live? Check the list on the main page to your left under tuners. I recommend East Coast Supercharging.

The LS6 has great heads. I'd spend my money on a BIG cam, LT headers and a good tune. LG would be my choice. I'm guessing their package "turn key" costs between $3200 to $3500 and you'd get around 440 RWHP or close to 500 crank HP.

If I decide to keep my mint 03 Z I may take a road trip to LG near Dallas. With an appointment they can do the work in a day and have you back on the road the next day.

Default cam question

I have an o4 coup with all bolt on mods. I am looking for either a c-2 cam or a g-1 cam in a vete to listen to or either email me or phone me . I would like to hear how you like what you did at MTI.

LS6 are great head - unless your going for the huge 475+ rwhp they are great.

I'm not sure what LG charges installed but here is what I paid for the parts on my car exaclty 1 year ago. I have a big cam car w/headers from LG, at the time I was charged $2700 for the G5x3 cam, moly pushrods, viton seals, comp 921 springs, titanium retainers, and the headers. I added underdrive from MTI for about 280 if I remember and ported oil pump from MORE, can't remember the price.

I did all of my install sans the tuning which ECS did for another 350 - 400.

I was right at $3,500 in parts and the car made 431 at the wheels.

I had NLP in Orlando do my H/C package and it came out to $5000. The installation included AFR heads, comp cam and push rods, underdrive pulley, 160 stat, new timing chain and injectors plus the tune. Not a bad deal I think. Now I'm at 440 rwhp and my cam isn't all that aggressive.

Tell us where you live BRO, then we can tell you the best tuner who is closest to you, b/c picking the best tuner closest to you is VERY IMPORTANT, if any issues should arise, etc. (and sh it does happen)!

Default Performance package

Check out www.moreperformanceinc.com. They are in Charlotte, NC.

You have great heads on the car. Stock heads, middle of the road cam, long tube headers, dyno tune will take you to 415 rwhp.

My personal opinion, going to 450-475 rwhp takes the car from a nice drivable machine to more pure race car, drag or road course.

Don't over do it unless you just want to race the car.

"To be perfectly honest, I am a bit skeptical about Speed Inc. after my ordeal. First of all, when I took the car in they did not give me the time of day. They told me to bring in my headers (which included the Cats and was not so much heavy as awkward to carry in). My mother had driven with me to take be back after dropping the car off, so I asked for her assistance in bringing the headers in. We were struggling to get them inside the door, when a customer of Speed Inc. offered to help and took my mother's place. Not a single person in the showroom offered to help. Secondly, ....."

It doesn't really sound like you were happy with your experience there. This quote was taken directly from your own website....but I couldn't agree more.

Oh, VERY nice website, BTW.

Thanks for the compliments on the site

The only reason I recomended Speed Inc. is because they have been known to do good work...overall. I just had a bad experience with them. I actually have another date set up with them this summer for my cam/heads. I am hoping my second experience will be better.

pat6200,
You're in a great location; you have several very good choices. Cartek, ECS & Vette Doctors are all reasonably close and each has a very good reputation. There's absolutely no need to go any further. Cartek has done 3 head/cam packages for me, I could go anywhere but keep coming back to them. Send me an e-mail if you want specifics.
