Default Rear Exhaust Plate

Now that I installed the GHLs Bullet Quad 3.5 Bullseyes that stupid black fiberglass piece really stands out.

Can anyone recommend a decent Rear Exhaust Plate so I can hide the GM Mistake....

Oh and has anyone tried the color ones? I saw a Yellow one, but not sure if I would want to do that or stay with all metal in that area.

Thanks

I have a chrome one with the C5 emblem on it on my car. Looks very nice and did not cost a fortune to get. Some of the billet ones run quite a bit of cash. I got mine from Ecklers, but most vendors sell them.

A couple of the forum retailers sell one made of stainless for 40 - 50 bucks, the billet aluminum ones are about three times the price....I went low end, still looks much better then stock.....

I got this one. Really looks good and not as pricy as some other billet plates. You can go cheaper, but this one looks good and is thick enough that you can pull it off and transfer it to a new car if you need to.

Try Mid America http://www.madvet.com/

they have a few choices, depends on how much you want to spend. I have the clear (or chrome looking) one I think it was like 44 bucks.

I bought this one originally - and I couldn't get it to fit between the pipes - I have a Corsa Pace Car system with Pro tips. When it wouldn't fit - Xtreme exchanged it for the one I wound up with. It's a nice piece, but spacing (at least for me) was an issue.

Here's the one I got from Ecklers in NBM to match the car.
Not the same exhaust but you can get the idea.

It all depends on how much you want to spend. You can get a nice one for $50 or spend $250 for one of the high end billet jobs. The above link to WCC is a nice one they also have one for $49.95. Check it out. I still need to get one myself and will probably go with the less expensive one. I don't cut corners when it comes to the Vette but this is an exception for me. I can't quite justify spending $150+ on an exhaust plate. Good luck, there are so many out there to choose from it will make your head spin.

I like all the different styles to choose from....keep'em coming.

Does anyone have any photos of the bolt on Billit one?

Thanks!

I have that one and I like the coverage it makes at any angle. I like that it has a rolled lip and is cut out around the pipes to give a factory look. This plate will not work with some aftermarket systems without modding.

Personally I'd stay away from the bolt on ones. They will loosen over time and start to rattle. And it's not that the bolts come loose, but the movement of the tips wear away some of the aluminum itself, making the hole bigger. I tightened up the one I had on my 2000 about 10 times until it wouldn't tighten any more. Then I had to put in shims to stop the rattling. It wasn't worth it. Put on a stick on one and it is NOT EVER going to loosen up.

Thanks for the insight BigJoe, that helps.

I know there an expensive piece, so I want to make sure. I do like the looks of them, however I've never seen one on a car.

Anyone else care to comment on the Billit plates or have photos?

Thanks!
