If I wanted to be an ME I probably could have been. Yes, the degree is harder than IE but I have to take several ME courses for general engingeering requirements and have had less problems with them than some people I know who are ME majors.
Maybe it's not as hard but it's as practical or more so than a lot of engineering degrees, including ME.
Don't pay any mind to those types of comments. You will probably hear that from the less enlightened within our profession in the coming years. I'm an ME with post-grad IE work who has designed everything from printing presses to medical devices and I've had the pleasure of working alongside many IE's in my 20+ years. I've learned that the perspective the IE brings to the project table is unique and valuable. Never let anyone denegrate your choice of professions. Each engineering discipline is honorable in it's own right and each contributes it's equal share to a successful design project. Here's an early congrats on your approaching commencement.

Oh, and I'll take two of those neat new fobs too!
Thanks for bringing us back into the treads original topic , (I was afraid we were gonna get into a ME vs. IE battle here).
PS: New pictures of the finished design comming within 3 days! (Looks even better than before).

Sorry guys. No harm intended. My main intended goal was to point out all of the joys you are going to have in your future with messed up products. The ME/IE crack just goes back to my days in school 20 years ago when IE was the little brother of ME at the U of Minnesota.
I did not realize that had been debated previously and my humor (or attempt at it) was not intended to offend. My sincere apologies.
On a bit of a conciliatory note, the fun is just beginning for you. Being in industry is soooo much more enjoyable than the college days, for me at least. There is definitely crap to deal with, but for me no more homework and no more tests was nice.
sure would like it better if you would turn the key axis 90 degrees. the way it is now it will have to stick STRAIGHT OUT from the dash and i believe many or most will find that very annoying.
I've only had my vette for a few months. What impact does this have, if any, on the memory settings tied to the remote? If I use remote #1 and memory setting #1, which memory setting will I be able to tie to this new remote?

you can program more then one remote in your car so it shouldnt affect it..

Thanks. I need to RTFM when I bring it out of storage, but are you saying I can tie more than one remote to each memory setting? I was just assuming that remote #1 was tied to memory #1 and remote #2 to memory #2. I've never had the need to play with the settings.
This is a great idea, I'm counting the weeks until it comes out.
A general question. How can I get the VATS#. I had heard that the dealer can look it up from the VIN - mine happens to want $45 to do it. Can you measure the resistance and somehow convert it?

Dealers really have some nerve! Give me the Dealer's name so I can tell my GM Rep about this place!
and
Don't Worry!
We'll look it up for you!
