How much does it weigh? Since it sticks straight out of the ignition will it be hard on the ignition assembly since it will create more leverage with it sticking out?

My knee hits the regular key at times (I'm 6' 5") sticking out like that would it be very much in my way, I'm afraid.

As referred to in a previous post the unit that we are making actually weighs less thank the stock unit with just the key and the fob, 1.25 as compared to 1.5 oz.

Cool. I miss the switchblade key from my old Audi. I used to mug people with it.

Are we there yet?

I was the first to respond back in the dark ages of this thread and I'm still waiting to buy a couple...

Just Kidding!!!

I've got first dibs when you finally get this all squared away - put me down for 2 "empties" on the very top of your pre-order list.

I had to post again to get this thread back into my recent topics, but FYI, it's been 2 weeks again.

Could you at least throw us some more bread crumbs and give us a hint on the prices.

BTW, I'm in on a pre-order for an empty as long as the price is reasonable.

Actually, the above mentioned 2 weeks was in reference to the time frame for customers to receive their pre-order units, from the time of order. But hey, I'll give expected price ranges again too:

How do I go about buying (pre-order) one for my 04 C5?

I would like the std. Black case with the corvette logo and I'll use my chip/computer board from my current key kob. <--- How much money?

I also agree with turning the key 90 degrees OR should I ask how does it look when it's in the ingition?

We have spent over 3 years and 5000 man hours in designing this unit, and this is the best way for it to be placed, it isn't possible to turn the unit 90 degrees.

Take a look at the pictures and you'll see that the there is more than enough room (I'm 6'1'' and my knee's haven't even been close to touching to the unit for the year that I've been using it).

Below are the requested pictures of the key in the ignition, sorry for the pic quality, I sent my assitant out to take a few quick shots (it was raining)!

Let me know what you guys think!

It looks pretty cool, but I'm wondering what it will look like with a few more keys hanging on the keychain. I have my house key and office key on the keychain.

I'm concerned about the ignition lock getting damaged.

That said, I can't wait to get one.

Can you ballpark a timeline???

LOL. I'm no lawyer but I'd love to see how you'd hold someone to such an agreement as you're posting this info on a public forum.

Anyway, the product looks great and I am really looking forward to seeing the pricing.

Hey, I "left immediately", so I'm clean...he he he...no way to enforce it just a deterrent....

sorry just bored here.....want to keep this post at the top...

I think another option in the poll is needed:
"I want it, but if it takes much longer, forget it, I'll do it myself."

Haha, I just do that kinda stuff to keep our lawyer busy! That guy makes our whole team carry around "Confidentiality Agreements" everywhere we go. You know what its like when a fellow Vette owner ask "Hey where'd you get that key?" and I have to reply by saying "I'd love to tell you, but first I need you to sign this disclaimer! "

Anyways guys, I got some color sample units in today, I'll post pics of them in a few hours later on tonight, let me know what you think, and how well they match the real C5 colors.

I wish we didn't have to jump through so many hoops for GM, and the other big guys out there before we launch this product... but we do. And that takes time...

You guys have been awesome, in showing support and interest in this, so don't worry we're gonna show you guys our appreciation soon!

But the money is burning a hole in my pocket.

I might have to use it for other mods.

I am sure it will be great when it is done.
