Can I please see pics of the race version and and the non-race version seats? I would think that the race version are more expensive. Can you please explain more on why it isnt? Im guessing cause the non-race version are more comfortable?

Thanks for the answers...

Is there sufficient adjustment with the standard factory rails to allow for a good driving position with the Race Seat that does not have and adjustable back? My car has the standard rails and no telescoping steering column.

I really like the way the seats look, I've been toying with getting a set of these for a long time now. I'm still a little concerned with:

1. Fit - having never sat in a set, how narrow are they?
2. How upright is the seat back? I'm concerned about adjusting to the correct driving/racing position.
3. I've seen several posts showing wear issues with the harness belts coming through the seat holes, as I will be racing my car, I don't want to spend $2,500 on a set of seats that are not designed to resist wear and tear of the harness?

Thoughts?

I'm 6', 34" waist?

Thanks for your input!

COLORADO FRC - You should give John a call, I'm sure he would be more than willing to answer your concerns.

I left John a message with my questions, I'll let you know what he says tomorrow!

Nice weather huh! Took me 1 1/2 hours to get into work this morning, some people should just stay home (or move back to California!).

Heard tonight that there isn't a single order in on the GP yet. At least a dozen people have said they were definitely interested over the past few weeks

I'm in as well, John has my CC number. I believe he said I made #2, so 3 to go.

VortechC5 - John said he is a 36" waist, fits in his seats just fine. He also said he has never had issues with quality, so I said I'd find the post that was made with the issue around where the harness belt comes through. He said this was the first he had heard of it, said you can't fix something if you don't know about it!

I'm going with black on black with red stitching!

Good color combo. I orginally wanted all tan (ferrari like) but went with black/red with red switching.

I was torn, I almost did black with red and red stitching, but decided on the more mono-chrome look with all black (in case I paint my car something other than torch red in the future!).

What do you guys think is the going rate for stock black Z06 seats? Assuming very good condition (drivers seat back is brand new, replaced under warranty).

Minus I guess whatever has to be transplanted over to the new Caravaggio race seats (is there anything? brackets, rails?).

Just trying to get a sense of the final delta in pricing on the seats. If I can down to about $1500 or so (assuming selling the seats), I'll 99% likely be in!

I tried looking up GM costs for corvette seats, but could only get 'individual pieces' to come up, not the entire seat. The 'pieces' were pretty expensive!

I'm just guessing here, but would think $350 - $500 each. I couldn't find any for sale on the C5 parts for sale forum either. Someone said there was a set on e-bay but I didn't try to find them for price.

Try posting on the for sale forum and people will tell you what they think they are worth, plenty of opinions on the forum!

I can't find a picture worth squat for the non-racing seats.

Their web site sucks. All the pictures are the size of a dime.

Here is a pic of some that were just for sale http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1004036

I am trying to make up my mind whether or not I "need" some in black now that there is a GP going on.

Thanks, but aren't those the racing ones too? They've got cut-outs for the racing harness.

No, those are the sport seats. You can get them (I think) with or without the holes for a harness.
