Default Watch LAPD Orders

My first buying experience with LAPD. Ordered Baer rotors from LAPD on 1/23. Heard nothing from them until 2/4 at which time I was told rotors were being shipped diectly from Baer and were back ordered. I sent them an e-mail same day requesting estimated date of shipment and asked if my credit card would be charged prior to shipment. No response to date. Got my credit card bill. Card was charged full price on 1/24. Mid America never did anything like this to me. I thought I would save a few bucks with LAPD, guess you get what you pay for. Never again ....

Never heard of or had a bad experience with Shawn. I've done business with him numerous times over the years and always had great customer service.

That must be a one of a kind deals.... I have dealt with Shawn and not only did I get my order promptly, he responded to all my emails quickly and professionally.

Not saying it doesn't happen, just haven't heard it about them.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I just received my Baer rotors last friday. I purchased them somewhere else and was told up front that it would take about a month. I got them in about 3 weeks. I would suggest you try and contact them by phone next time. Some of these outfits aren't the best at returning emails.

I've only bought one thing from them......my Vararam and everything went as expected. But I've probably sent them at least 5 e-mails with questions about other stuff and Shawn answered each the same day. I'd give them a call to talk about it. I consider LAPD one of "the good guys" and I'm sure they'll take care of you.

I have always had good transactions with LAPD. Sorry, this happened to you, but it must have been a rare hiccup. The overwhelming majority of biz he does here goes off without any problems. I would give him another try, imo.

This is definitely NOT like the LAPD that I know. Shawn is a hard and conscientious worker; perhaps he was on vacation?

I had the exact same thing happen, including the same story only with my Borla's. Card was charged the day of the order (Jan 05) but the product wasn't shipped until late January - dropped shipped from Borla. I didn't get a shipment confirmation until I threatened to cancel the order and then they shipped the next day. Shawn did a maintain the lines of communication, responding to my eMails almost instantly and even copying me on his eMails to Borla. IMO they shouldn charge the card until they shipped. Perhaps they need to funds to pay their supplier in advance?

Having Paypal "Buy Now" buttons in my website, I think I know why this happens: If someone orders via the vendor's website, the funds are automatically deposited into either the vendor's bank account or in an account such as Pay Pal's. If the customer instead calls in the order, the vendor has the option of holding off from running through his merchant account. I'll bet that this order was initiated on-line and the funds were instantly transferred. It is highly unlikely that LAPD needed funds to purchase from the manufacturer.

Only made one purchase...my flush light kit and Corvette exhaust plate....

Well my plate came without the emblem I order...I called was a little dissapointed but not real upset. They said they checked some of thier others and they had recieved a few that were missing logos. They offered to send me a emblem or new plate. I told them I would wait for a new plate.......

Guess what?? It came next day air without me asking.....Good customer service in my opinion....

Just my .02 YMMV

Give Shawn a call and talk to him about this. The times I have dealt with him, all things went smooth. Hope you get this worked out.
