ouch, you guys are hurtin' me.... I get 15.6 mpg on the regular and about 19 hwy.
You're not the only one, my lowest was 14 city- but only once it happened, I get an average of about 15-17, haven't driven it 100% highway yet so I don't know.
I don't do TOO much stop-and-go driving in the city due to my work schedule, so I usually get around 21-22 in the city, to 30-31 highway. Friend of mine witnessed me getting 42mpg for over 5 minutes in Florida a few weeks ago (not going downhill). I was going around 50mph.
With my six speed 04, it is rare if I get less than 20 mpg around town. On my first trip, Texas to Florida, with 300 miles on the car, the first tank was 30.4, and it went up from there. I did see 90 mph more than once. I had a 99 automatic, it also got right at 20 mpg around town, but stayed about 28 mpg on the road. When we go somewhere, my wife will ask what we are driving, (I have 7 vehicles) I'll say the economy car, and she knows it's the 04 Corvette.
Depending on speed on the highway, I get anywhere from 32-27 mpg with my A4. In town, probably 18-20 mpg, but then I'm too busy watching out for soccer moms and their cell phones to pay attention to my mpg.
I get about the same with 3.15 gears, ... Sometimes its fun to watch the 'instantanious MPG' as I drive on the freeway and its cool to see it burst over 50MPG on the gentle downhills at 60MPH. I have a Haltech intake filter/airbridge. I'm hoping for more HP/Torque and a slight improvement in MPG when we install long tube headers, BIG cats, x pipe and so on. Anyone got any figures for before and after a free flow exhaust?????
