I,ve spent hours on this site every night, since finding it, it's great. Bought my first vette last week and haven't got a good nights sleep since then. 01' navy blue coupe, 18k, pics soon. Because of the weather being so cold, is a touchless carwash an option? Thanks to all.

welcome its a great place to hang lots of info part of my fun with the car is washing it myself no carwash for me and im in jersey folks around here think im nuts washing my car in the winter you just have to pick out days that arent to cold then once shes clean put a good wax on her so when you bring her home you just wipe her down
This forum rocks - I would say, wash it yourself by hand though, especially since you just got it and you'll find all sorts of little things you wouldn't have seen otherwise, plus you get to run your hands around the car's curves.....ok I'll stop now

Welcome Newbie...
...vettes deserve a tender loving hand of its owner...MPO
you get to remain familiar with every piece...
...when its cold...I bundle up and clean faster
I say if you want to use a touchless wash, more power to you. Alot of guys here get nuts about caring for "their baby". I personally wash my own but it has seen a touchless twice in it's life when I was in an extreme hurry and didn't have time to do it myself. I figure I'd get condemned to hell either way. I had to decide do I drive a dirty Vette or do I get a touchless wash? Not a hard question here!
Welcome!
Thanks for all the good advice about the carwash. What about cleaning the undercarriage? My daughter refuses to crawl under the car, and my knees are shot from sports?
I have a Hand Wash Car wash near my work. while it still has the tracks and moves the car along, there are a bunch of workers with wash mitts doing all the cleaning. Once I checked the rail width and saw it didn't rub, I use it in emergencies. They also go over the inside as well. Beats frostbite or a dirty car!.
In the winter I just take it to one of the do it yourself washes and rinse the grime off. I've tried the touchless automatics a couple of times, but you might run into clearance problems. I could feel the bottom scraping a little on the track that you drive onto.

Enjoy the car and the Forum.
Wait until you're my age! Those Vette curves will be the only option you have!
