Techron additive....

Just thought i would let you know.
Same here. I've been using Techron ever since my gauge went bonkers but no effect. As with Zilla, the dealer changed the sending unit too. I'm in the northeast, I think it has something to do with the winter reformulated gas. Oh well, at least my valves are clean.....

I've always added it to an empty tank. Don't forget, we have 2 tanks with contacts in each. I feel that by adding it while empty, it gets mixed up and distributed to both tanks equally.

Thats a good point actually that I hadn't thought of.

One thing many forget is that Techron is also an excellent top engine cleaner. GM and Saturn did extensive testing about six years ago on cylinder head/valve deposits, and found Techron to be the best additive made to clean top engine components.
If there is a buildup on a piston, soak it overnight with pure Techron. Just remove the plugs, poor it in and let it sit. Next morning crank the engine WITH THE PLUGS STILL OUT, once all Techron is removed, install plugs and start, and the tailpipes will shoot out blue smoke for about one minute.
It's an amazing chemical, but not a total fix all for all fuel gauge sender problems.
