C5 Seats Vs. C6 Seats
The hardness of them reminds me of the jump seats in the back of a pick up.
Perhaps because they were new and not broken in yet.
Mine feel like a comfortable pair of slippers.

IMHO, if you are going to upgrade, go with a caravaggio seat or some other racing seat or, just mod your C5 seat for less money. The cost of buying C6 seats for you C5 isn't worth the trouble since there's not much to gain.[/QUOTE]
Actually you will be surprised, I was going to hold off on posting until I got my seats completed but here is what I have so far.............
I purchased (Cheap - see below) one c6 driver seat from Joe @ Pheonix performance as a replacement for my worn standard frc seat. The c6 seat definitely grabs you much better in the area from the side bolsters up to the just below the shoulders. Another plus, is the leather/vinyl used on the c6 seems to be of better quality and looks much nicer(imho) than the stuff used on the c5.
After testing the c6 seat out I decided I also wanted a matching passenger seat. However, there was not a take out passenger c6 seat available.
I decided to take the c6 seat apart and compare it to the c5 seat. The dimensions and mounting points of the frames are identical. The big difference is the c6 has a full back and the area from the bolster to the shoulder protrudes out about an inch father than the c5 frame.
The next test was to fit the c6 skins and foam on the c5 frames.... they fit with no problem. The c5 frame with the c6 skin and foam feels better than the standard c5 seat but not as good as a c6 seat. I decided to get the better feel I would need to build out the c5 seat frame (in the process of doing this right now with fiberglass resin ad cloth). It is pretty easy to do.
So for my total cost I have one actual c6 seat (take out $438)
I have ordered one set of c6 seat skins & foam ($367 forum vendor)
Fiberglass resin & cloth ($20)
less the sale of 1 worn FRC seat and one set of skin & foam set on ebay (-$250?)
less sale of 1 c6 power seat track ($150?) that came with the c6 seat.
And I am looking at $385 to have my seats updated. You will need one panel replced on the c6 lower to cover up the cutout for power seat controls but that shouldn't be too bad.
Basically I think you can update 2 c5 seats for about $750 less whatever you can get for your current skins & foam on ebay ($200???)
I have pictures of the frames next to each other and pictures of the c6 upper skins mounted on the c5 frame. If someone can host them I will email them tonight.
