(And please neon eg (or is it ge?) please don't waste your time with a worthless post just rack one up if you can't answer...)
In the world of 80% daily driving (20% planned for Gingerman this summer) do you see any plusses of the additional stiffening? It's a relatively cheap mod and I'll be under the car anyway in the next couple of weeks and am considering this. Constructive comments from experience would be appreciated. (Would have posted on the Tech or Z06 board, but thought I'd see more responses from experience here.)
Thanks in advance. And yes, I tried the search... no luck as usual recently.
How are you going to use your car ? Straight lines or Roadcourses or combo ? Knowing what your goal is will help in answering your question.
From all the awesome stories I've heard of Gingerman, I have to guess "roadcourse" is the best answer. (tons of curves and supposedly pretty forgiving)
Had my Elite coated SS tunnel plate installed last week when my new headers went on. Have only driven the car abot 30 miles since then due to the weather. But I have noticed less, squeaks & groans. If it keeps the heat down from the headers in the hot weather I'll be happy. More driving weather permitting should tell me more.
I put one on when I installed my QTP headers. I immediately noticed the difference even just chaning lanes on the highway. I have the VnM Backbone. I think the mod is a definite plus and am very happy with it.
1. Over bumps the car rides much more rough.
2. Very little heat in the center console.
3. Not any faster around corners. The car slides at the same speeds. No difference at all.
