Sorry to ask i know this clb is been beat to death but i have a few things im not sure about. First are there years where its a major prob? i have a 04. I had a dealer run the vin it has a recall open on it,so im aware that it hasent had the recall done. Having said that ive also read on here that doing it i will still have the prob??? Is that right? Something about all the dealers do is reset the computer to turn the car off if the wheel locks. Now it has just come to my attn that if i say hell with taking it to the dealer, and dont do that i should install the clb, that will FIX the prob. is this true? And one other think. Has anyone heard that the clb might cause another prob with frying the computer in the car?? It just makes me mad to think that gm had from 1997 to 2004 to take care of this andthey havent. So i need you to help me with what i should do with my car. Its a 2004 6 speed with 5,000 miles on it . Im leaning towards doing nothing and pray comments please...kevin
With an MN6, the CLB is a must. If I were you, I'd have the recall done (as long as you do not have a dyno tune), so that it is on record as having been done, then install a CLB.
You are living on borrowed time if you do not install a CLB. The problem definitely exits in all C5's.
I have heard claims that it can cause problems with the PCM, but have never seen or read of an actual incident of that occuring.

My recommendation is to get the recall done (I did) then install the CLB (did that too). If it locks up now, I know that I have done everything I can to prevent it.
