C5 "Impression" ?

On the other hand the list of people that want first ride in mine is long...so it is a balanced reaction.
With a divorce rate of 60% in Dallas and a fake boob ratio to rival Beverly Hills, I think the cheese comes from the typical Dallas couple, 50 year old divorced guy and 20 year old plastic girl or baloon smuggler as we call them.
btw I am 30, single, and could care less what others think if it is only based on my automobile.

I've always thought Dallas was a fun town...................
Eg Hope you don't mind the editorial license I took with you post but the similarities were too close to pass up! .

If you drove Grond to church, would it immediately get hit by lightning????

Stephen
I spread the Track Video's around work and get lots of compliments.
The only people that seem to give me odd looks are the old ladies
at my kids pre-school, when I drop my oldest son off or pick him
up they give me that snooty attiude, yet everyone else is driving
40-80k SUV's ( H2s, Lincoln Aviator/Navigator, BMW SUV's etc ).
How many people have seen a vette with a child seat in it? LOL
Pass Airbag Off BTW that switch coulda been located someplace
better than the glovebox though...
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
With the Vette I can do things I only dreamed of 20 years ago...
In my mind I'm still 20... Nobody else matters!
Zooom
Add me this list, age, experience, attitude and all!!

For me - it is my first. Everyone I've encountered has been very positive and happy for me. I'm sure they mumble under their breath, but I don't hear it. They haven't got the guts to say it to my face - and what do I really care, anyway.
My wife loves the car, but most of all she loves the effect it's had on me. She told me shortly after I got it, that if she had known that this was going to make me this happy - I should have gotten it long ago.
My "old" friends were thrilled that I realized a forty-five year dream. My "new" friends that I met through Corvette ownership welcomed me with open arms - because they've been where I was before I bought the car.
I'm a very lucky guy to have the things I have.....my dream come true, a great wife who supports me, loyal friends, a great daughter who at 16 offered me her savings to help me buy the car, and good enough health to enjoy all of it.
That's what's important - not what some jealous whiner thinks.
People change, Dave. Sometimes, they change for the better - sometimes they change for the bitter.

And to all the rest who've responded ... you guys just confirmed that I was not wrong ... I missed the train to Loserville, and now I'm a bad man for it.
I shouldn't say he's a loser ... but whiner sounds about right. Thanks for continuing to assist my insight everyone.
I've done this both different ways. When I was in HS my buddy had a 97 WS6 that his parents gave to him when he hit 17. Damn was I jealous in my v6 1996 camaro working on weekends to make the payment. I would always make stupid comments and his reply would be, "if your parents gave it to you would you take it?" that usually shut me up.
I wanted a corvette since I was 5yrs old and I love cars. We don't talk anymore and I finally bought a C5 after years of compromise with Mustangs (99 cobra, 00 GT, 90 notch). I am picking it up in a week infact!!
My current corworkers who know me are happy for me because they know I am a motorhead. I got the ***** comment to and referred them to my wife for comment
If you've earned it and people can't respect that don't associate with them. I plan on letting everyone I know drive the vette and when they see you love the car and aren't a snob about it most are cool. When they say must be nice to have a vette I say can you drive stick
By the way, I just turned 25. Live YOUR life, be decent to people and the rest will follow.

Peace Everyone!

I drive by Arlington Cemetery twice a week and know that we owe it to those heroes and to people like you to live freedom to the limit.Steve
There are a lot of people out there that criticize who have no pride ot values.
Corvette drivers ARE special. They are a breed apart from the norm.
Of course I am predjudice.
A few years ago I woke up one day and realized that all the time in the gym and the vette I drive was what I thought was cool as a kid. Funny how things work out. Folks see me in many different ways, many judge me by appearances. I am more than they see, they just don't know me.
Dave, I've seen your posts here on the CF, I know you're a nice guy. What I'm saying is don't be bothered by folks who are shallow or jealous and who try projecting a image on you. We know who you are, and we like what you bring to us here in the Forum.
Have a good life and enjoy your blessings!
