C5 "Impression" ?
My friends and faimly are really happy for me. My Mom who is 70 couldn't wait for a ride. She and my dad had a 57 until kids came. Dad regretted selling it and always dreamed of buying another. He died before he realized that dream.
Bottom line this car makes me feel great and my wife and kids love it.
...i say drive it...smile... and think about the compliments and positive comments and forget about the negative...i think with whatever high end car you own you will always have the haters!!!
I got my first vette (so far) last year on my 50th birthday. My wife and I have raised three kids and they are all out of the house. We felt like we deserved it. She took me to the dealer a week before my birthday and said to pick out the one I liked, so I did!
I think you can tell a lot about peoples character by the way they react to your vette. My family (in-laws too) have all been very supportive. True friends seem to be happy for you. Oh sure some have laughingly made the mid-life crisis or the small ***** comment, but congratulated me on getting the car.
I found it amazing when so called "friends" reacted negatively. I was actually shocked in some cases. I thought I knew them.
One person just said "Oh, I would never have a vette" and proceeded to talk non-stop for several minutes about why a vette wouldn't be right for her.
Another took it as some type of challenge and proceeded to tell me about his three 4 to 6 year old BMW's (one he uses for parts, ugh), in a tone that was condecending.
Unlike him, I congratulated him and walked away.Man, I love these cars.
I get excited everytime I see one one the road or in a parking lot. They are the definition of cool.
Congratulations to all of you.

Enough of that drama let's get down to the Vette. I've always wanted one ever since I can remember. But priorities didn't allow it until just recently so now I am loving life like never before. I got the car because I love Vettes, always have and always will (hope they change that friggin front end of the C6
). Yeah, you have to deal with the mid life crisis bs and the small ***** cracks (then you whip it out
and shut them up
) anyways who cares. I am secure enough in my manhood that I just laugh at them and enjoy the Permagrin TM. Make sure when you type Permagrin you use the TM, something I learned from the Great Knight himself Neon Green.
Oh yeah, when someone is hatin on me I just say "Blo Me" with a smile.
The older you get the less you'll care what other people think.
I'll be 56 in a month and I am there................6 or 7 years ago it finally dawned on me that what other people think is about as important as a bottle of cold ****. Love that car!!! Waited a long time for it!!

Well said,
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I have worked hard my whole life and am very happy with my family, personal life, and career.
Performance cars have been a love of mine since I was a young kid (My dad and uncle are both car nuts) I have wrenched and drag raced cars for many years.
I paid more for my GMC Envoy than for my vette but the vette has a special place for me. I could afford a Viper if I wanted one but have always loved Corvettes.
