I recently went to an instructional DE at TxMotorSpdway and learned more in 4 hours than I had in 35 years of driving.
I quickly figured out the car is quick enough, it is me that needs the tuning.
If you do a bit of road course you will be more interested in modding your brakes than adding horsepower, I guarantee!!!!

verysoon

Oh yeah, and its fun, if a little nervewracking. It took me about 4 hours for the adrendline to cook off!

Spring Mountain uses ZO6's and C6's, nothing like learning in what you have!

Just got back from Spring Mountain last night and had a great time. Worth every penny! You'll get a greater appreciation for what you and the car are capable of.

Go to School. You will really learn what your limits are; what your car's limits are; and you will be a whole bunch safer!

Driving school, hands down. The 3-day school I went to at Bragg-Smith (now called Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch) was the best money I ever spent.

If you can't afford both- then do the school. Its really a rush to push a car as hard as you can. School is the best place to learn . Safety fast.

The school sounds like it would be a blast. I think it would be great to learn what our car's are capable of.

If its possible, I would join a car club and get some real roadcourse track time. I almost spent $2200 on Justin Bell Roadcousre Drivng school and instead I did what I am recommending. Each event had cost me about $225-$275. I got:

1. Up to 4 hours on the track with each event

2. 2 hours of classes during the event

3. A instructor (which is required until they sign you off as solo) in my car while I'm on the track

4. Seat time in other instructors (seat time is very important for learning) cars or any other car where a solo driver doesnt mind giving you seat time.

After my 4th event I had 16 hours of experience on 2 different tracks and the total cost was around $1100. You wont get that in a school

Try hanging out in the Forum Roadracing section if you are interested. You may find someone who can get you involved with running on Track courses in your area. I tell ya, its a blast. in fact I have an event tomorrow morning.

Yup, looks very familar. I'm going to be getting a digicam very soon so I could Have soem vids. It also show oyu waht you are doign wrong.

Guys, you need to get out there and do this. You dont know what you are missing. Find a car club and you'll go from there. It will be a little intimidating at first but you'll learn and its soooo much fun!

If you are in S Fla contact me and I'll hook you up. I run with 2 clubs.

It just goes to show that a driver with a smooth, controlled driving ability will run the course faster than someone irratic and uncontrolled in the corners. He didn't even seem like he was pushing it but was catching the earliers drivers with no problem.

That must be an old video. I raced at that track last summer on my motorcycle and looked like a lot of stuff was missing...

I'd do the NASA school if they are in your area and you want road racing. I went twice last year in my ricer. They are very good. I went to Mid-Ohio Raceway. We got 5 30 minute sessions on the track and 5 30 minute classroom before each track session for $185.00. There is no way you can have more fun going legally fast for less money with instruction. It was very professional. I had an instructor in the car with me for each track session. I can't wait to get my Corvette on the track. Also, just going one time is nice but if you want to really become a better driver you've got to go more than once. The NASA program is terrific and affordable. Check them out at www.nasaproracing.com.
You'll be able to get the mods too but learning to drive will improve your performance better than the mods.

You really should do the school first for a few reasons.

1.) You need to be "Professionally" aware of what the stock vette is capable of doing first.

2.) After the mods you can then realize what the differences are. This will allow you to have more respect for the car by knowing when and where to unleash the newly gained power.

The worst thing you can do is mod the hell out of it then crash it due to stupidity. (not trying to sound harsh...just giving you a dose of reality.) Trust me; class first then mods afterwards....You'll love yourself for this! Besides, you may learn something you never knew.

Enjoy and good luck!
