i had to laugh today
heres the scene easter morning 8:00 am
i was leaving walmart this morning
weve all seen walmart parking lots pretty massive to say the least
(at least here in louisiana)
well im a fellow vette owner and care for my car as much as the next guy
but there were maybe 50 total cars in the parking lot when i was leaving when i see this 2004 ce z06 pull into the parking lot and low and behold guess where he decides to park
yep almost the very fartherest spot away he could
i understand being careful but man 50 cars in a parking lot of 600 and he picks one of the last
i dont know maybe his love goes a little deeper than mine but ive never had a bad experience parking like normal cars and i try to find a far one if its peak time on a busy day but i guess to each his own
My suggestion would be just don't go there! Here I would rather take a beating than go to walmart!
I got hit once with a grocery cart in Hy Vee several years ago with my Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra. The put a about a $150.00 dent in it and had no problem paying for it. I park waaaay in the back if I drive the vette but I cannot remember when I took it to Walmart the last time.
Don't you just love Wally World. This happened to a Corvette buddy of mine. He and his girlfriend had JUST purchased a Jeep Liberty as her DD.
They were shopping at a nearby mall. They came out just in time to see a large dog TIED to an unattended shopping cart make a complete circle around their car, yeh, dragging the cart. He never told me what that cost in paint repair. I also am one of those people that park far-far away.
I just don't get some people .A friend takes his vette to a city parking lot the charge is $4.00 a day pay when you leave at lift arm .O n leaving attandent says vette that will be $10.00 .Friend is pissed and drives right threw.A little damage but some what satisfied . Why if you have a nice car this ,a door slam ,or key mod .
maybe the shopping carts run out of gas before they get that far out...i was walking out of a store the other day and noticed an un-manned shopping cart headed for someone's vehicle..i ran and grabbed it before it hit the car..i think it's pretty crappy that someone would be so careless...
Sounds normal to me - I do the same thing. Unfortunately, even when I park so far out, most times that I come back to the car I find someone has still parked close to me.
There's nothing wrong with taking your car to WalMart. I usally park right up front right next to the handicapped space. I like to put my tires right on the line and really crowd them so they can barely get the wheelchair by my car. And if I'm really lucky I can get 2 spaces on a nice incline right next to that shopping cart rack thing. I always leave the top off and the windows down too. Some times just to give the pimpley faced kid with the big belt buckle in the service center a rush I'll go in and throw him my keys and tell him where my car is in the parking lot and tell him to go get it and do an oil change and tire rotation. And if he wants to take it for a spin with one of his buddies it's OK. But if he does make sure to stop of at the drive through car wash and get it cleaned up before they bring it back. And stop at the Jack in the Box and get milk shakes for the whole crew.Man they really think I'm cool down at Wally World
I will do the same thing each and every time!!! I have seen people kick doors, into great cars, with the bondo special doors on the junker cars they parked one inch away and do it on purpose
I too am so tired of lazy people who have no respect for other peoples property. I have the perfect sigh to put on jerks cars who park to close to you, I would post it but it is a little offensive. Warning if you get offended easily do not e-mail me. All you have to do is print a few of these out and keep them in your car. And when someone parks to close to you, as you are leaving quickly (when no one is looking) put one under their wiperblade. If you want one e-mail me at: moserjr@charter.net Just type (Sign) in the subject line.
Well, I was traveling the Mass. turnpike on Saturday & stopped at a rest area (McDonalds) while parking next to a Vette... the fellow parked as close as he could to the facility, while gingerly positioning himself to take-up two parking spaces. Now, I understand his caution... but he could have parked another 100 feet out and given other, less corvette-type folks, a break. It's this kind of self-rightousness that may give folks a bad taste in their mouths when it comes to being tolerant with exotic-car-types... I can't say as I blame them! (Nice car though, even though the whole interior behind the seats was jammed with travelling stuff... not so cool to look at!)
