How long has it been sitting. Usually they clean themselves up the first time you hit the brakes while driving if they are rusty from sitting for a few hours....days.

They are cast iron and will rust like 10 minutes after they get wet... Take the car around the block and they'll be good again!

Paint the rotors with a good quality high temp paint, and only the fire path will show rust till the first time its driven.

Yeah, I had my ride sitting up for awhile after I washed it and there was the rust. I freaked, but I figured I've had it for a few months it's not like it just appeared on this day. I drove it and the brake pads wore 'em right off. They look like the same stock crap again

My Baers do the same. Just drive for a bit and problem solved.

After painting them a couple of times this was my answer. At least I am hoping the zinc coated rotors will do the trick.

The stock rotor hats will rust after a period of time. You can paint them with the same type of paint you would your calipers and they will look much better. Or you can get some covers that go over the hats - check out Ecklers for a set. They have red ones on sale I believe.
