While I prefer BP or Amoco (runs great in three of my four cars/trucks), I usually have to use Chevron in the C5. I'm OK with having to do that to keep the fuel gauge working (its really a design mistake anyway ), but I have to say, the Chevron stations in Orlando REALLY SUCK!!! They are the filthiest Pieces Of Crap I've ever seen or been in. Sure, you're only supposed to be there to fill the tank and get the heck out, but man.... the filth just starts to creep over toward the car when you drive in.
The two closest ones seem to be the worst, and are run by jerk off, Slurpy peddling, *****. To top that off, they are usually a nickle or dime higher on premium than other stations in the area, and first to raise it every time somebody says gas prices will go up soon.
Guess the best thing to do is just buy the can of Techron from auto parts stores and fill 'er up somewhere else.
The next merger should concern you....Chevron/Texaco and now they are buying Union76....less competetion = HIGHER prices Funny how a barrel of oil on the open market goes up 50 cents and the price is reflected at the gas pump immediately But, when the spot price goes down one dollar the next day the price does not drop...are we being F'd or what Two weeks ago an article in the business section mentioned that two CEO's of the big oil companies were getting a huge annual bonus (millions) because profits were up What is up with this????
Forget it,.......... "the song remains the same",.oh ya and its allready $3.00 @ gal. hear on the left cost! Its all rellitive, and political. we must all be responsible for the choices we make
The thing that concerns me about this merger is that Unocal was one of the last Majors that were still active in drilling on the shelf (GOM). I am concerned that Cheveron Texaco is going to basically going to exploit Unocal's reserves rather than spending money on exploration both on the shelf and in deep water. We need the majors to be drilling for new fields, not just depleting known fields. The surge in oil prices needs to stimulate some investment in domestic exploration, not just profiteering from known reserves.
Funny you mention that---the Chevron that I go to in Charlotte is run down and filthy also. Maybe they need to monitor who is running their locations and what they look like???
Hey guys--
with this merger, do you feel using Texaco is just as good as using Chevron gas for our cars?? I just paid $2.40 a gallon for gas (Chevron) in Charlotte, NC on Saturday--- Just looking for some opinions and trying to see how namy use Texaco over Chevron----Thanks!
