Maybe this is sad, but I believe that a significant number of people are just a waste of space...thieving, vandalizing, wife battering pieces of crap. These people are not making "mistakes"; rather, they are defective in some material respect. They are fundamentally bad people...not people that happen to do bad things. A mistake is when a person accidently picks up the wrong umbrella because it looks like theirs as you leave a restaurant...intentionally harming anothers person or property because they don't care or consider it wrong (especially when this is frequent behavior or the offender is an adult) is a sign of being a complete waste of space. These people need to be dealt with harshly. I believe they are fair game for whatever I feel like dealing out, and I consider it a public service.

In my professional life I had to deal with criminals within the confines of the law...in my personal life I am not nearly as forgiving. One of the most frustrating things about being the victim of crime is a feeling of losing control. This feeling makes the "event" seem significant for a long time. It would bother me for quite some time if I did nothing to the offender...it would really eat at me. I would rather get even. If not at that exact moment, I would wait until some later time when revenge might be more practical. I would want the offender to know what is happening to him and why it is happening...without being able to prove who did it.

People, this is something most don't want to admit. Punishment, retribution and revenge has been around forever and it is not a bad thing. Just be smart about it. I am not saying that I recommend murder or serious bodily injury for vandalism...but there is no limit to the things you can do to make someone wish they didn't f^#% with you.

EDIT: Please not this is not any sort of legal advice. As I've said before, what is legally impermisible is sometimes morally correct.
i know how you feel, believe me. thats one of my main missions in life, to avoid people who dont care about themselves, they surely aren't going to care about me and mine. surely then, you must know some people doing long stretches of time, because of the principal of it,right ?

You want real anger and chest-thumping? Take a look at some of the import/ricer boards... now there's an excess of testosterone!

Peace.

People use this medium to vent the anger and frustration rather than in a physical manner. THis is not to say I would just stand by and let someone intentionally damage my property - I WILL stop them, but I am not about to kill anyone for being an idiot either.

its not about being "pc" i once caught someone breaking into my audi 5000 years ago, proceeded to whip his ***, i got some satisfaction and still use it as a war story on occasion still had to pay for repairs. i geuss i was lucky that the damn fool didnt try to get me arrested,or worse, sue me for assault. im with you folks, some people deserve a real good *** whipping, may get one for past transgressions that went unresolved, plenty of people sitting around regretting decisions, all a crapshoot!

Everyone on the internet is above average height, weight, strength...at least they can be if they want.

More and more I find the Corvette community to be a very friendly bunch, and we on the forums can become quite good friends with people we have only met or seen at Corvette Cruise Ins, or shows etc.

It's nice to have someone who understands, listens and cares.

Here we have hundreds of those folks - literally.

Like 1hotZ06 said - it theraputic to have these folks behind you - even if only in the form of an understanding post.

best regards -

Well said!

We're all friends here with a common bond. Many of the things that happen here are only understood here. We vent and rant because we're among folks that understand. We're not likely to smack someone because of a stupid act, but at least others here on the board understand why we think it was a stupid act in the first place.

Most here on the forum can become men amongst men. There is nothing wrong with this. At least we can feel some sense of justice here. For the system doesn't give it to us anymore, and that is probably why we let our feelings boil over. And is another reason these events are happening more and more. But it's good that you brought this up so that we can all stand back and have a good look at ourselves and ensure we don't go the way of our assailants.

It's obvious no one here understands the plight of these poor souls who have no respect for you and what you've worked for. These people are not responsible for their plight, it's society's fault. Why should these people care about personal responsibility, stepping up and accepting the consequences for acts they commit, either by mistake or on purpose. The only reason you have all these nice things is by some stroke of luck, you didn't work hard, get educated, save your money so you can have those luxeries, it was luck

If you don't believe this just ask some bleeding-heart, apologist.

Anyway, I've had my rant, glad you're ok, don't expect anything financial out of the POS driver, and you can bet she'll be back on the road, criminals at any level don't care if they break the law.
