Charlie, Dave and Tim, we are all in the same "boat" - We're all OINK - One Income No Kids
I've had stepkids and out of 3, 1 is truly wonderful. We still hang out together but that's the nearest I'll ever get to being a Dad.
Love being able to buy mods or travel or do whatever my heart desires whenever I wish to do so. Yes, there are emotional downsides - but hey! what situation doesn't have downsides???

You got that right! I love my twins (born 10 months after we got married ), but they are leaving for college and it is time to have the kind of fun that I had to give up to raise them. My brother picked his GS1150 Adventure over kids and never looked back.

Wow I have never been associated with a pig - jeez Stephen I thought I was loosing weight - now I must look in the mirror.
Yeah in all seriousness I agree Steven. I love kids and would like to have them in the future when I meet the right women - current one is looking good! But love being able to do as I please on a moments notice. Hey we are guys - we have nothing to worry about - our guns are loaded for quite some time.....
You can have kids......or you can have things........but, you can't have kids and things......lol........actually I have 3 kids....(all grown now) and am on my 5 vet....so they grew up with vets and they still all love them....my current vet (2005 convert is in the will for my oldest son) my he never get it.......lol

When my dad got his 1st 500SL I joked with him (me being the car nut) that it better be mine in the will. We were joking the other week and he brought that up again and I told him....nah don't worry about it - I have a much faster car now...ha ha.
No I don't think that it is sad.
YOu can't even compare the two. Having kids and owning a vette are two different worlds. I have two now and 1 on the way. (Kids) and only 1 vette.
I don't get much free time to drive the vette around and my kids are too young to really appreciate the vehicle.
Although the other day my son says (he's 3) - In front of the whole family. "Dad your corvette is for us guys only" not for mom or his sister.
I thought that was great.
I probably won't have the same vette when he gets old enough to drive - its a 98. But might as well get him started early to enjoy a fine automobile.
so Vette's and Kids go together, but are not even comparable in what it means to us.
To each his own on what you want to do.
They both are great.

I have already started working on the propoganda with my 3 year old 2nd cousin (heard dad likes Porsches so had to steer him in the right direction). For Christmas I got him a Hot Wheels playset with of course a red Corvette. My cousin, his mom, was telling me the other day that they were cleaning his room and packing toys away. When she picked up the Vette, he screamed "No! Chowees car!!!!" (Apparently, that is how a 3 y.o. pronounces Charlie.) He wouldn't let it get packed away. I love that kid!!!!
Indeed kids are truly a gift. A heaven sent gift from God above. Bless their little hearts. Just do me one little favor: LEAVE THEM AT HOME WHEN YOU GO OUT TO DINNER! IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD A SITTER, EAT AT HOME WITH YOUR MISERABLE LITTLE LOUD MOUTHED GIFTS. DON'T RUIN A GOOD NIGHT FOR EVERYONE AT THE RESTAURANT. WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR THEIR WHINING, SNIVELING & CRYING. THAT GOES FOR COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS & MOVIE THEATERS AS WELL!
Thank you.
Wife and I took our kids everywhere... movies, dinner, overseas flights, shopping, ball games, etc. etc. Not that it was easy but sure pi$$ed guys like u off.
Now we have our Vette, only 2 seats Oh well, we did our bit!

I definately don't think it's sad! I would much rather have a garage full of exotics than a house full of kids. Everyone at work always asks me when I am going to have any and my response is "I already have one. She's got a 6-spd. manual, a loud a** exhaust, and she is a beast on the road and she'll kick your butt. I love her!" Cars are definately the way to go. Because if you think about it, you have to take them for checks-up (I.E. the tuners), you have to give them baths (and a good waxing!) and you have to feed them (lots and lots of expensive gas.) So we're not missing out on anything! Except for screaming for lollipops!

NikkiY2KFRC, off topic - but LOVE your avatar because I'm a BIG Queensryche fan especially their anthem that is so unlike their other work - "Silent Lucidity" - and we're practically neighbors - I'm in East Lyme, CT.
